Bloody Brotherhood
''Bloody Brotherhood'' is a 1989 Hong Kong action film directed by Wang Lung-wei and starring Andy Lau and Irene Wan. Plot Cheung Ka-wah (Andy Lau) and his older brother, Ka-wai (David Lam) are entering Hong Kong illegally with their parents on a refugee ship. During the way, their sickly mother dies due to lack of oxygen in the deck before the Chinese coast guards approach the ship leading to a firefight between the guards and the refugees on ship and their father was killed in the gunfire. Ka-wah picks up a pistol and fires at the guards being getting shot and jumps into the sea, successfully sneaking into Hong Kong and was rescued by a boat girl, Kiu (Irene Wan), and her grandfather who nurse him back to health. On the other hand, Ka-wai was captured and deported back to mainland China and forced to work as a labour in a mine quarry. Wang Lung-wei
Wang Lung Wei () (born 1949), also known as Johnny Wang, is Hong Kong martial artist, actor, director, producer, and action choreographer, who has starred in over 80 kung fu films, mainly for Shaw Brothers Studios. Wang's first Shaw Brothers film role was as the traitor Ma Fu Yi in the Chang Cheh-directed film ''Five Shaolin Masters''. This became a pattern, in that he was cast as the villain in the majority of his movies, with ''Martial Club'' being a famous exception. In 1985, Wang moved behind the camera, choreographing fight scenes, writing, and directing many movies such as '' Hong Kong Godfather''. He retired from the industry some time before 2009. Dick Wei
Dick Wei (, born April 15, 1953) is a Taiwanese actor, director and writer who specializes in martial arts and action films. Early life and career A Hakka, he was born in the town of Pingtung in southern Taiwan and began studying martial arts in Junior High School, winning numerous competitions. Later, he served in the Taiwanese army, attaining the rank of captain, and was an instructor in unarmed combat, especially Tae Kwon Do. His first films were made while he was still in the army (mostly low budget Taiwanese productions). His earliest movie appearance may be a brief fight scene with Ti Lung in the Shaw Brother's ''Iron Chain Assassin'' from 1974. Discovery While operating a martial arts studio in Taipei, he was spotted by Chang Cheh, who persuaded him to have a screen test which was shown to Sir Run Run Shaw. Kung Fu Films
Kung fu film () is a subgenre of martial arts films and Hong Kong action cinema set in the contemporary period and featuring realistic martial arts. It lacks the fantasy elements seen in ''wuxia'', a related martial arts genre that uses historical settings based on ancient China. Hong Kong Cinemagic, sometimes referred to as HKCinemagic, is a bilingual ( French and English) website providing a repository for information about Chinese language films from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and the people who created them.
