''Blood Bathory'' is an EP by Italian singer Lord Vampyr, released in 2007. It is a loose concept album, whose lyrics are based on old Hungarian and Romanian vampire-related folktales. Alessandro Nunziati
Alessandro Nunziati (born 16 September 1972), better known by his stage name Lord Vampyr, is an Italian musician, record producer and writer, famous for being the former vocalist of the gothic metal band Theatres des Vampires, as well as one of its founding members. Biography Nunziati was born in Rome, Italy on 16 September 1972. As a teenager, he studied accounting and computer programming at the II° liceo artistico di Roma, and also graduated in Psychology at the Sapienza University of Rome. His first musical ventures were with the death-doom band Sepolcrum, formed in 1988 and of which he served as the vocalist. Sepolcrum released three demo tapes before changing its musical style to thrash metal and its name to VII Arcano in 1995. In 1994, after recording a last extended play with VII Arcano that would be released in the following year, Nunziati left the band to form Theatres des Vampires. Symphonic black metal is a subgenre of black metal that emerged in the 1990s and incorporates symphonic and orchestral elements. Notable symphonic black metal bands include Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, and Carach Angren. ''De Vampyrica Philosophia'' is the debut solo studio album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr, released on 6 February 2005 through Officina Rock Records. The album was Lord Vampyr's first release following his departure from Theatres des Vampires. The title is a pun on the famous occult treatise '' De Occulta Philosophia''. The spoken-word portion of the track "De Vampyrica Philosophia" was taken from the opening lines of the 2003 film '' The Order'', and the instrumentation is sampled from the 1992 film '' Bram Stoker's Dracula''. Darkthrone
Darkthrone is a Norwegian extreme metal band from Kolbotn, Akershus. Formed in 1986 as a death metal band named Black Death, in 1991 Darkthrone embraced a black metal style influenced by Bathory and Celtic Frost and became one of the leading bands in the Norwegian black metal scene. Their first three black metal albums—''A Blaze in the Northern Sky'' (1992), ''Under a Funeral Moon'' (1993) and ''Transilvanian Hunger'' (1994)—are sometimes dubbed the "Unholy Trinity". Transilvanian Hunger
''Transilvanian Hunger'' is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Darkthrone. It was released 17 February 1994 by Peaceville Records. Recording ''Transilvanian Hunger'' was the first Darkthrone album to be recorded as a duo (Nocturno Culto and Fenriz), which was a direct result of Zephyrous's departure from the band the previous year. Fenriz performed all instrumentation on the album, with Nocturno Culto adding vocals. As of 2018, this and ''Panzerfaust'' have been the only Darkthrone albums with this type of arrangement (although Fenriz also performs spoken word vocals on the ''Panzerfaust'' outro). ''Transilvanian Hunger'' was recorded on a 4-track recorder set up in Fenriz's bedroom (dubbed "Necrohell Studios" by the band). Mayhem (band)
Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Langhus in 1984. They were one of the founders of the Norwegian black metal scene and their music has strongly influenced the black metal genre. Mayhem's early career was highly controversial, primarily due to their notorious live performances, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin ("Dead") and the 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth ("Euronymous") by former member Varg Vikernes ("Count Grishnackh") of Burzum. The group released a demo and an EP that were highly influential, and amassed a loyal following through sporadic and notorious live performances, attracting further attention through their ties to the string of Norwegian church burnings and the incidents of violence surrounding them.
