Blondie's Big Moment
''Blondie's Big Moment'' is a 1947 American comedy film directed by Abby Berlin and starring Penny Singleton, Arthur Lake, Larry Simms, and Marjorie Ann Mutchie. It is the 19th of the 28 Blondie films. Plot Dagwood is eager to make a good impression on his new boss Mr.Radcliffe, but he begins the relationship by ruining his boss' new suit with jelly stains. Things do not improve much from then on. Abby Berlin
Abby Berlin (August 7, 1907 — August 16, 1965) was best known as a director of feature films and television productions. He began on Broadway and Vaudeville as part of a comedy team with Ken Brown in the 1920s. By 1939, he had moved to Hollywood, where he worked as an assistant director, before getting his opportunity to helm his own films with 1945's ''Leave It to Blondie''. He was married at least twice, his first wife, Jean, committed suicide after arguing with him; his second wife was B-movie actress Iris Meredith. Life and career Berlin was born in New York City on August 7, 1907. By the late 1920s, he had teamed up Ken Brown as a comedy song/dance duo, who performed on both Broadway and on the Vaudeville circuit. The team had garnered the nickname the "Two Knights of Knonsense". Daisy (dog Actor)
Daisy (originally named Spooks) was a canine actor who appeared in more than 50 Hollywood films during the 1930s and 1940s. He was especially well-known for appearing in the Blondie franchise. Biography Daisy—a cocker spaniel–poodle-terrier mix—was originally named Spooks because his owners noted his timidness as a pup. Born around 1937, he was owned by dog trainer Rennie Renfro, who bought him for $3. He also learned tricks from legendary trainer Rudd Weatherwax. Reportedly, Renfro and his pup made $1,000 a week, and Renfro used the money to buy them a house in Toluca Lake, California. He was also noted to have had a five-year feud with actress Rita Hayworth. His last known film appearance came in 1954. Daisy and his "pups" had their own dog food brand that they made public appearances to promote. Jack Davis (actor)
John H. Davis (April 5, 1914 – November 3, 1992) was an American child actor, notable for appearing in Hal Roach's ''Our Gang'' series. His sister Mildred Davis also acted; she appeared in Roach comedian Harold Lloyd's films as his leading lady. When Lloyd and Mildred were married in 1923, Lloyd pulled Jack out of ''Our Gang'' and enrolled him in military school. Maltin, Leonard and Bann, Richard W. (1977, rev. 1992). Jerome Palmer Cowan (October 6, 1897 – January 24, 1972) was an American stage, film, and television actor. Early years Cowan was born in New York City, the son of William Cowan, a confectioner of Scottish descent, and Julia Cowan, née Palmer.
