Joan Blondell
Joan Blondell (born Rose Joan Bluestein; August 30, 1906 – December 25, 1979) was an American actress who performed in film and television for 50 years. Blondell began her career in vaudeville. After winning a beauty pageant, she embarked on a film career, establishing herself as a Pre-Code staple of Warner Bros. Pictures in wisecracking, sexy roles, appearing in more than 100 films and television productions. She was most active in film during the 1930s and early 1940s, and during that time co-starred with Glenda Farrell, a colleague and close friend, in nine films. Blondell continued acting on film and television for the rest of her life, often in small, supporting roles. She was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in '' The Blue Veil'' (1951). Gloria Blondell (August 16, 1915 – March 25, 1986) was a stage, film, and television actress who was the younger sister of actress Joan Blondell. Family She was born into a vaudeville family. Her parents and siblings, Edward Jr. and Joan, were all entertainers. She once said, " me member of my family has been in the theater ever since the time of Richard the Lionhearted." Her father, Levi Blustine (or Bluestein), a vaudeville comedian known as Ed Blondell, was born in Poland to a Jewish family circa 1865 and died in Glendale, California, on March 27, 1943. Ruby Blondell is Professor of Classics, Adjunct Professor of Gender, Women, & Sexuality Studies, and Byron W. and Alice L. Lockwood Professor of Humanities at the University of Washington. Their research and teaching centres on Greek intellectual history, gender studies, and the reception of ancient myth in contemporary culture. Career Blondell completed their BA and MA in Classics at the University of Oxford (1978 and 1981, respectively), before receiving their PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 1984. Their doctoral thesis was entitled ''Helping Friends and Harming Enemies: A Study in Sophocles and Greek Ethics''. Tina Blondell (born 1953) is an Austrian/American painter. She was born in Salzburg, Austria, but spent the better part of her childhood in Italy where she was introduced to art. She moved to the United States, first to Washington, D.C. in 1971 and then to New Mexico in 1992. By the late 1990s, she had settled in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and her paintings are a part of many public collections, including in Minnesota at the Minneapolis Institute of Art and the Weisman Art Museum. Early life Blondell was born in Salzburg, Austria, in 1953 to an American father and an Austrian mother. In 1957, she moved to Italy, where she lived until she was 18. Blondell Reynolds Brown (born October 16, 1952) is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party. She served as a member of the Philadelphia City Council. Reynolds Brown was the only woman to serve At-Large in City Council from 1999–2015. Blondell Wayne Tatum, a.k.a. Chemo, is a fictional character who has appeared in two novels by Carl Hiaasen, '' Skin Tight'' (1989) and '' Star Island'' ( 2010). Personal history Tatum was born in North Dakota. His parents belonged to a religious sect that believed in polygamy, vegetarianism, and refusing to pay income taxes. Tatum was orphaned at age six when his parents were killed in a shootout with FBI agents in a post office outside Grand Forks.
