Bliznashki Government
The Bliznashki Government was the ninetieth cabinet of Bulgaria which took office on 6 August 2014, following the resignation of the previous government. This cabinet was a caretaker government of technocrats designated to serve only until a new government could be elected with a popular mandate. The government, led by Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki, was set up by President Rosen Plevneliev. A new government was formed after the early parliamentary elections on 5 October 2014. Cabinet Medarova appointment and pull out On 8 August 2014 the president Rosen Plevneliev appointed the judge Krasimira Medarova, a former chief of the Central Election Committee, as the minister responsible for conducting the upcoming parliamentary elections. Two days later, on 10 August 2014, Medarova stepped down due to criticism for her former job as a chief of the Central Election Committee. Georgi Petkov Bliznashki ( bg, Георги Петков Близнашки; born 4 October 1956) is a Bulgarian politician and a former Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He was a member of the Coalition for Bulgaria, part of the Party of European Socialists, and became and was an MEP from 1 January 2007 to June 2007 with the accession of Bulgaria to the European Union. He was born in Skravena, Sofia Oblast. Expulsion from Socialist Party Bliznashki was expelled from the BSP in March 2014 after he expressed disagreement with party policy. Daniel Pavlov Mitov ( bg, Даниел Павлов Митов; born 4 December 1977) is a Bulgarian politician. He served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria from 2014 to 2017. He became Minister of Foreign Affairs on August 6, 2014 in the cabinet of Georgi Bliznashki and remained in that post in the cabinet of Boyko Borisov from October 7, 2014. Early life and education Born in Sofia, Mitov received his higher education at the Sofia University. In addition to his native Bulgarian, he is fluent in English, Italian, and Russian. Political career In 2002, Mitov worked at the Political Academy for Central and Southeast Europe and in 2006 became a member of Bulgaria's Democracy Foundation. Evgenia Radanova ( bg, Евгения Раданова; born 4 November 1977) is a Bulgarian female short track speed skater and racing cyclist who has participated in both the Summer and Winter Olympics. She was the world record holder in the 500 m short track distance with 43.671s, which she set in Calgary, Canada on 19 October 2001. In the Salt Lake City 2002 Winter Olympic games she won a silver medal at the same distance and a bronze at 1500m. In Athens 2004 Summer games she took part in cycling, but did not get a medal. In the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in the women's 500 m she ended up 7th.
