Blink (band)
Blink are a pop rock band from Ireland. Noted for their melancholy humour, they have released four albums since their inception in the early 1990s. Their 1994 debut album, ''A Map of the Universe by Blink'', was a Top Ten in the Irish album charts and their second album, 1998's ''The End is High'', was a ''Billboard'' album of the week. Their most recent release, 2004's ''Deep inside the Sound of Sadness'', was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the 2005 Meteor Music Awards, losing out to Snow Patrol for their album ''Final Straw''. The band are also notable for being the first band pictured on a telephone card. A run of 202,000 were produced in 1993. This included a smaller limited run of 2000 cards, which were used as membership cards for the band's fan club. All the cards read 'Limited Edition' despite being produced in great quantities. Dublin
Dublin (; , or ) is the capital and largest city of Republic of Ireland, Ireland. John O'Neill (guitarist)
John Joseph O'Neill (born 26 August 1957) is a musician who is the rhythm guitarist and principal songwriter of the punk rock/ new wave band The Undertones. O'Neill, along with his younger brother Vincent and friends Feargal Sharkey, Michael Bradley and Billy Doherty, founded The Undertones in 1975, although Vincent O'Neill was replaced the following year with his younger brother Damian O'Neill, who became the band's lead guitarist. John O'Neill wrote the majority of the band's singles and a number of album tracks (occasionally collaborating with his brother Damian or Michael Bradley). Undertones songs written by John O'Neill include the singles "Teenage Kicks", " Jimmy Jimmy", "Here Comes The Summer" and " You've Got My Number", and such notable album tracks as "When Saturday Comes" and "You're Welcome". The ''Daily Mirror'' is a British national daily tabloid. Founded in 1903, it is owned by parent company Reach plc. Wendy Starland is an American singer, songwriter and music producer from Los Angeles. Mark Geary is an Irish singer-songwriter born in Dublin, Ireland, into a large family with seven siblings, one of whom is actor Karl Geary. In 1992 he emigrated to New York City with a one-way ticket after winning a lottery green card. Living in New York's East Village, Mark honed his craft and sang alongside the best of them in Sin-é cafe, including the late Jeff Buckley. The Cardigans
The Cardigans is a Swedish rock band formed in Jönköping, Sweden, in 1992 by guitarist Peter Svensson, bassist Magnus Sveningsson, drummer Bengt Lagerberg, keyboardist Lars-Olof Johansson and lead singer Nina Persson. Post-hiatus shows since 2012 have been with Oskar Humlebo on guitar instead of Svensson. Lloyd Cole
Lloyd Cole (born 31 January 1961) is an English singer and songwriter. He was lead singer of Lloyd Cole and the Commotions from 1984 to 1989 and subsequently worked solo. Early life Cole was born in Buxton, Derbyshire, England. He grew up in nearby Chapel-en-le-Frith and went to New Mills Grammar School and later attended Runshaw College in Leyland. He studied a year of law at University College London but switched to the University of Glasgow, where he studied philosophy and English, and also met the future members of The Commotions. Richard Melville Hall (born September 11, 1965), known professionally as Moby, is an American musician, songwriter, singer, producer, and animal rights activist.
