Sara Blicavs
Sara Blicavs ( lv, Sāra Blicava; born 15 February 1993) is an Australian professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Southside Flyers in the WNBL Blicavs was a member of the Australian Women's basketball team (Opals) at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The Opals were eliminated after losing to the USA in the quarterfinals. Career Blicavs plays in the guard or forward positions. WNBL Blicavs began her career, playing for the Australian Institute of Sport. After a brief stint with the Dandenong Rangers, Blicavs moved to the Bendigo Spirit. There, she won her first WNBL championship. For the 2015–16 WNBL season, Blicavs returned to the Dandenong Rangers. Blicavs has been re-signed for a third season with the Rangers. Mark Blicavs ( ; born 28 March 1991) is a professional Australian rules footballer for the Geelong Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He made his debut for the club in round one of the 2013 AFL season. Early life Blicavs' parents were both born overseas – his father was born in New Zealand to Latvian parents, and his mother was born on the isle of Jersey. Both of his parents represented Australia at basketball. His father Andris Blicavs played at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and his mother Karen Ogden was a member of the team that competed at the 1983 World Championships. His brother Kris has played basketball in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL) and his sister Sara Blicavs played in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Andris Blicavs (born 30 July 1954) is an Australian retired basketball player. Biography Blicavs was born in New Zealand to Latvian immigrant parents. He grew up in Adelaide and Melbourne. His sister Ilze also played the game at elite level. Blicavs played for the Australia men's national basketball team during the 1970s. He competed for Australia at the 1974 World Championship in Puerto Rico and the 1978 World Championship in the Philippines. Blicavs also represented Australia at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. Blicavs is married to former Opals player Karen Ogden, who represented Australia at the 1983 World Championship held in Brazil. Their son Mark was drafted by the Geelong Football Club in 2012, while their daughter Sara has played basketball for the Australian Insitiute of Sport and Dandenong Rangers.

Ilze Nagy (''née'' Blicavs) is a former Australian women's basketball player. Biography Blicavs played for the Australia women's national basketball team during the 1970s and competed for Australia at the 1975 World Championship held in Colombia. Playing in an era before the creation of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) in 1981, Blicavs played for Sturt in the South Australian competition. Blicavs won the Halls Medal for the best and fairest player in the South Australian Women's competition on two occasions; 1973 and 1984. Blicavs is married to Boti Nagy, who played basketball for South Australia at the national level during the 1970s. Their daughter, Ieva, played basketball for Troy University.
