Bless 'Em All (film)
''Bless 'Em All'' is a 1948 British musical comedy film directed by Robert Jordan Hill and starring Hal Monty and Max Bygraves, the latter in his screen debut. John Guillermin worked on the film as an associate producer. Premise The film is about three men who meet when they are called up for the Second World War and fight together in the Battle of France. Cast *Hal Monty as Skimpy *Max Bygraves as Tommy *Jack Milroy as Jock Production It was the first of two Adelphi Films to star Hal Monty as Skimpy. It was also the debut of Max Bygraves. Reception The film appears to have been reasonably popular. Preservation status It is on the British Film Institute's 75 Most Wanted list of lost films; only a two-and-a-half minute trailer was known to survive at the time. However, a reader notified BFI that a cut-down version titled ''Be Kind Sergeant'' was being offered for sale on eBay. Jack Milroy
Jack Milroy, MBE (born James Cruden; 28 December 1915 – 1 February 2001), was a Scottish comedian. Born in Govanhill, Glasgow and educated at Shawlands Academy, Milroy is noted for his partnership with comedy actor Rikki Fulton as Francie and Josie. The pair appeared together as lovable Glasgow teddy boys on television, in theatres across Scotland and in pantomime, from 1960 until their final appearance at the King's Theatre in Glasgow in 1996. Following service in the army during World War II, Milroy began a song-and-dance act which led him to meet his wife, Mary Lee, who was a singer. The couple married in Aberdeen in 1952. A natural comedian, Milroy appeared in Glasgow, which he continued to make his base, had his own show at the Tivoli Theatre, Aberdeen in the 1950s and was a regular favourite at the Gaiety Theatre, Ayr. A trailer (also known as a preview, coming attraction or attraction video) is a commercial advertisement, originally for a feature film that is going to be exhibited in the future at a movie theater/cinema. It is a product of creative and technical work. Movie trailers have now become popular on DVDs and Blu-ray discs, as well as on the Internet and mobile devices. Of some 10 billion videos watched online annually, film trailers rank third, after news and user-created video. John Guillermin
John Guillermin (11 November 192527 September 2015) was a French-British film director, writer and producer who was most active in big-budget, action-adventure films throughout his lengthy career. His more well-known films include '' I Was Monty's Double'' (1958), ''Tarzan's Greatest Adventure'' (1959), ''Never Let Go'' (1960), ''Tarzan Goes to India'' (1962), '' Waltz of the Toreadors'' (1962), ''The Blue Max'' (1966), ''The Bridge at Remagen'' (1969), ''The Towering Inferno'' (1974), ''King Kong'' (1976), ''Death on the Nile'' (1978), '' Sheena'' (1984) and ''King Kong Lives'' (1986).
