The Blekinge Fotbollförbund ''(Blekinge Football Association)'' is one of the 24 district organisations of the Swedish Football Association. It administers lower tier football (soccer), football in Blekinge County. Background Blekinge Fotbollförbund, commonly referred to as Blekinge FF, is the governing body for football in the County of Blekinge. The Association was founded on 25 March 1917 and currently has 63 member clubs. Based in Karlshamn, the Association's Chairman is Per-Ola Johansson. Karlshamn
Karlshamn () is a locality and the seat of Karlshamn Municipality in Blekinge County, Sweden. It had 13,576 inhabitants in 2015, out of 31,846 in the municipality. Karlshamn received a Royal Charter and city privileges in 1664, when King Charles X Gustav, in Swedish Karl, realized the strategic location near the Baltic Sea. In 1666 the town was named Karlshamn, meaning ''Karl's Port'' in honour of the Swedish king. History At the outlet of the stream Mieån was found a harbour and fishing village "Bodekull" and a farm "Bodetorp". In the lower parts of "Mörrumsån" was a prosperous salmon fishery. Sweden gained supremacy over the territory through Treaty of Roskilde 1658. The king Charles X Gustav immediately inspected the coast and found here a tremendously beautiful and incomparable harbour. Karlskrona AIF
FK Karlskrona is a Swedish football club located in Karlskrona. Background The club was formed on October 31, 2012, as a result of the merger of Lyckeby GoIF and Karlskrona AIF. Karlskrona AIF was formed in 1968 as a result of the merger of Saltö BK, Karlskrona BK and Björkholmens IF. Since its founding Karlskrona has participated mainly in the middle lower divisions of the Swedish football league system. They did play second-tier football in Division 2 Södra and Division 1 Södra in the 1980s and early 1990s. The club currently plays in Division 1 Södra which is the third tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Västra Mark IP in Karlskrona. Their attendance record is the 3,893 spectators against Västra Frolunda IF in 1981. The District Football Associations are the local governing bodies of association football in Sweden. District FAs exist to govern all aspects of local football in their defined areas, providing grassroots support to the Swedish Football Association by promoting and administering football, futsal and beach soccer in their respective districts. Most of the 24 District FAs align roughly with the boundaries of the historic Provinces of Sweden, although Stockholm FA and Gothenburg FA cover the two major cities and their immediate conurbations. Division 6 (Amateur league) is the eighth (due to sponsorship reason) level in the league system of Swedish football and comprises 78 sections with 5 to 12 football teams in each. The competition There are 100 groups of 15 to 17 teams each representing a local geographical area. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the others twice, once at their home ground and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 18 to 22 games depending on the number of teams. Sölvesborgs GoIF is a Swedish football club located in Sölvesborg in Blekinge. Background Sölvesborgs Gymnastik-och Idrottsförening were founded on 13 October 1915. Sillhövda AIK is a Swedish football club located in Holmsjö in Karlskrona Municipality, Blekinge County. Background Sillhövda Allmänna Idrottsklubb (abbreviated SAIK) was founded on 28 December 1967 following the merger of the Saleboda IF and Holmsjö IF clubs.
