Blarney GAA
Blarney GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Blarney, County Cork, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football, hurling and camogie teams in competitions organized by Cork GAA county board and the Muskerry divisional board. In 2008, the club won the Premier division of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship, and played in the Cork Senior Hurling Championship in 2009. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. 2020 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2020 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 17th staging of the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 2004. The draw for the group stage placings took place on 19 November 2019. The championship was scheduled to begin in April 2020, however, it was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic in Ireland. The championship began on 1 August 2020 and ended on 3 October 2020. On 3 October 2020, Blarney won the championship after a 1-20 to 0-15 win over Castlelyons in the final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh. This was their second championship title overall and their first title since 2008. Blarney's Mark Coleman was the championship's top scorer with 1-50. Christy Ring Cup
The Christy Ring Cup () is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Originally introduced as a second-tier competition, it is currently the third tier overall in the inter-county hurling championship system. Each year, the champions of the Christy Ring Cup are promoted to the Joe McDonagh Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup. Kildare are the 2022 title-holders. The competition is named in honour of Christy Ring, a legendary player from Cork. The Christy Ring Cup, which was introduced in 2005, replaced the All-Ireland B Hurling Championship (1974-2004). John Griffin (hurler)
John Griffin (born 1983) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Kerry senior team. Born in Lixnaw, County Kerry, Griffin first played competitive hurling in his youth. He arrive don the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Kerry minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2006 league. Griffin quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won two Christy Ring Cup medals and two National Hurling League medals in the lower divisions. He has been a Christy Ring runner-up on three occasions. At international level Griffin has played for the composite rules shinty-hurling team, winning a championship medal in 2009. Mark Coleman (born 23 December 1997) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left wing-back for club side Blarney, divisional side Muskerry and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Playing career Scoil Mhuire gan Smál Coleman first came to prominence as a hurler with Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál in Blarney. Having played hurling in every grade during his time at the school, he usually lined out at midfield on the senior team. Shane Barrett
Shane Barrett (born 2001) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-forward for club side Blarney and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Career Blarney Barrett joined the Blarney club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels. On 21 April 2019, he made his championship debut and scored five points from play in a 0-24 to 2-12 defeat of Ballinhassig. Cork Premier Under-21 A Hurling Championship (currently known for sponsorship reasons as the ''Evening Echo'' Cork County Premier Under-21 A Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1973 for the top tier under-21 hurling teams in the county of Cork in Ireland. All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The GAA Hurling All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship, known simply as the All-Ireland Club Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the second highest inter-county club hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year since the 2004-05 championship. The final, currently held on the third Saturday in January, is the culmination of a series of games played between October and January with the winners receiving the cup. The Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs in the province of Munster in Ireland.
