Blane Morgan
Blane Morgan (born 1977) is an American football coach. He was most recently the head football coach at Lamar University, a position he held from 2020 until 2022. Morgan also played college football as a quarterback at the United States Air Force Academy. Early years Morgan attended Trinity Christian Academy, where he was coached by his father, Barry. He played safety, until being named the starter at quarterback as a junior, after his brother, Beau, graduated. He was a member of three state championship teams in four years, the last led by him at quarterback. College career Morgan followed his brother and accepted a football scholarship from the United States Air Force Academy. He saw no varsity playing time during his freshman season, playing instead for the program's junior varsity team. 2021 Lamar Cardinals Football Team
The 2021 Lamar Cardinals football team represented Lamar University in the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a member of the Western Athletic Conference. The 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season, part of college football in the United States, was organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level. The regular season and postseason were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. Multiple FCS conferences moved their scheduled games from the fall of 2020 to the spring of 2021, and in August 2020, the NCAA announced that the FCS postseason would also be delayed. While the NCAA at one point announced a cancellation of the FCS playoff, in late September 2020 a revised playoff schedule was announced, with the FCS Championship Game played on May 16, 2021. Southland Conference
The Southland Conference, abbreviated as SLC, is a collegiate athletic conference which operates in the South Central United States (specifically Texas and Louisiana). It participates in the NCAA's Division I for all sports; for football, it participates in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). An offensive coordinator is a member of the coaching staff of an American football or Canadian football team who is in charge of the team's offense. Generally, along with the defensive coordinator and the special teams coordinator, this coach represents the second level of coaching structure after the head coach. The offensive coordinator is in charge of the team's offensive game plan, and typically calls offensive plays during the game, although some offensive-minded head coaches also handle play-calling. Several position coaches work under the offensive coordinator (position groupings can include quarterbacks, wide receivers, offensive line, running backs, and tight ends).
