Grand Tourer
A grand tourer (GT) is a type of car that is designed for high speed and long-distance driving, due to a combination of performance and luxury attributes. The most common format is a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive two-door coupé with either a two-seat or a 2+2 arrangement. Grand tourers are most often the coupé derivative of luxury saloons or sedans. The term is a near-calque from the Italian language phrase ''gran turismo'' which became popular in the English language from the 1950s, evolving from fast touring cars and streamlined closed sports cars during the 1930s. FIA GT Championship
The FIA GT Championship was a sports car racing series organized by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) at the behest of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship was mostly concentrated in Europe, but throughout the years has visited other continents including Asia and South America. At the end of 2009, the championship was replaced by the FIA GT1 World Championship, which morphed into the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, FIA GT Series for 2013. Regulations FIA currently defines several categories of grand tourer, GT cars with the top two specifications being GT1, or Grand Touring Cars, and GT2, or Series Grand Touring Cars. The 2015 GT Sprint Series (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2015 Blancpain Sprint Series) was the third season following on from the demise of the SRO Group's FIA GT1 World Championship (an auto racing series for grand tourer cars), the second with the designation of Blancpain Sprint Series. Calendar The series started at the Circuit Paul Armagnac in Nogaro, France on 6 April and finished at Circuit Park Zandvoort in Netherlands on 11 October. Baku had been scheduled to host the final round of the season, but was replaced by Zandvoort for economic reasons. Alessandro Latif
Alessandro Guido Latif (born 11 April 1996 in London, England) is a British/Italian race car driver. Latif is the youngest race winner of a V de V Proto Endurance Challenge race. In 2014 he competed in the Blancpain Sprint Series driving for Phoenix Racing, the Daytona 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours driving an Audi R8 LMS for Flying Lizard Motorsports. Marc Basseng
Marc Basseng (born 12 December 1978 in Engelskirchen) is a German racing driver. Career Basseng began his career in karting. In 1997 he began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for the UPS Porsche Junior Team, finishing third in the 1998 standings. He raced in the Renault Sport Clio Trophy in 2001 and 2002 and won the German Clio Cup in 2003. In 2004, Basseng began to compete in the VLN Nürburgring Endurance Championship, where he has claimed 25 overall wins. Vincent Abril (born March 1, 1995 in Alès, France) is a French- Monégasque race car driver based in Monaco. He was the 2015 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup champion. Racing career In 2011, Abril raced in the SEAT León Supercopa France series for Team Speedcar. In a season with six top-tens, he finished 15th in the point standings. In 2012, Abril returned to the SEAT León Supercopa France series. He started the season with a 2nd place finish at Lédenon followed by a 6th place finish at the same track the following day. Maximilian Götz (born 4 February 1986) is a German racing driver. He has competed in such series as International Formula Master and the Formula 3 Euro Series.
