Blanche Sewell
Blanche Irene Sewell (October 27, 1898 – February 2, 1949) was an American female film editor. She was known mainly for working at MGM Studios from 1925 until her death in 1949. Early life Sewell was born on October 27, 1898, in Oklahoma. However, she grew up in Idaho, and later moved to Los Angeles. Sewell was one of, technically, seven children. She had four older brothers, one younger brother, and two younger sisters. Although, one of her younger sisters that was born in 1907 died that same year in infancy. Her mother died in 1910 after giving birth to her youngest sister, Ida Grace. Her father was a Methodist minister. She graduated from Hollywood High School. Career At an early age, Sewell turned down acting opportunities to work behind the scenes and ended up working as a negative cutter. Noble County, Oklahoma
Noble County is located in the north central part of Oklahoma. As of the 2010 census, the population was 11,561. Its county seat is Perry. It was part of the Cherokee Outlet in Indian Territory until Oklahoma Territory was created in 1890, and the present county land was designated as County P. After the U. ''The Trial of Mary Dugan'' is a 1929 American pre-Code film produced and distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and starring Norma Shearer. The film is based on the 1927 Broadway stage play ''The Trial of Mary Dugan'' by Bayard Veiller, who also directed the film. On stage the play had starred Ann Harding (in Shearer's role), who would come to Hollywood a few years later at the beginning of talkies. This was Veiller's first and only sound film directorial effort as he had directed several silent films before 1922. The play was also published as a novel authored by William Almon Wolff, published in 1928. The 1941 film of the same name is an MGM remake. ''Tide of Empire '' is a 1929 American silent Western film directed by Allan Dwan and starring Renée Adorée and Tom Keene. The film was originally slated to star Joan Crawford in the female lead, but the final filming had Renée Adorée instead of Crawford. It was one of the last MGM silents and performed badly at the box office. On January 12, 2010, ''Tide of Empire'' was released on home video for the first time on DVD on Warner Archive Collection. Buster Keaton, who was visiting the set, got cast in a cameo as a drunk getting thrown out of a saloon. |

''The Flying Fleet'' is a 1929 romantic drama film directed by George W. Hill and starring Ramon Novarro, Ralph Graves, and Anita Page. Two United States Navy officers are rivals for the love of the same woman. The film is silent, and in black and white, although various scenes have either background music, engine noises or in one case, trumpet sounds, inserted. Plot Six friends are to graduate the next day from the United States Naval Academy. They all hope to become aviators. When the officer of the day becomes sick, Tommy Winslow has to take his place, while the others go out and celebrate. Two return loudly drunk after curfew.
