English is a West Germanic language of the Indo-European language family, with its earliest forms spoken by the inhabitants of early medieval England. Marqus Austin Blakely (born October 22, 1988) is an American professional basketball player who is currently playing for the Kumamoto Volters of the B.League. He played college basketball for Vermont. College career Blakely gained a reputation at Vermont by winning the Kevin Roberson America East Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year twice and the America East Defensive Player of the Year Award three times. He earned national recognition by winning the 2010 State Farm Division I College Basketball Slam Dunk Contest. He performed a dunk invented by then teammate Evan Fjeld that had never been done before. The dunk is now widely known as the "Double Dunk" where Fjeld dunked the ball from the right side and Blakely caught the ball out of the bottom of the net and dunked it back in mid-air. Zelma Muriel Blakely (26 November 1921 - 6 September 1978) was a British painter, printmaker and engraver who illustrated a number of books. Biography Blakely was born in Kensington in London to James Blakely, a British diplomat, and Imeon Maria Matear, who had married in 1920. Blakely attended schools in both the United States and England before studying at Kingston School of Art from 1939 to 1942 and then at the Slade School of Art from 1945 for three years. At the Slade she was taught by both William Coldstream and Randolph Schwabe and won a notable prize, the Wilson Steer Gold Medal. After the Slade, Blakely taught art at Heatherley's School of Art while establishing her career as a printmaker and book illustrator for which her preferred technique was wood-engraving. She was elected an associate member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1955 and a full member in 1966. Stuart Blakely (born August 15, 1956) is an alpine skier from New Zealand. He competed for New Zealand at two Olympics. In the 1976 Winter Olympics at Innsbruck, and was 53rd in the downhill and 35th in the slalom, but did not finish in the giant slalom.
