Blair Aiken
Blair Aiken (born September 2, 1956) is an American former stock car racing driver. He made two NASCAR Winston Cup Series starts in 1985. He also was a factor on the Winston West tour for a number of years. Winston West Aiken had a solid first season in this lower level NASCAR division: 1985. That year, Aiken had a best finish of 4th and used that to move to 5th in the season points. After a start in 1986, Aiken did not compete in the series until 1997, when he only made one start. Aiken's last year was in 1998, when he finished 16th in points with 3 top-fives and 13 top-tens. That included a career best 3rd at Mesa Marin. Winston Cup Aiken debuted at Riverside, starting the race in 36th. With an engine failing, Aiken would fall to 38th in the event. Later in 1985, Aiken would return to Riverside, starting in the 34th place. This time, Aiken was able to finish the race and do so in 29th. 1985 NASCAR Winston Cup Series
The 1985 NASCAR Winston Cup Series was the 37th season of professional stock car racing in the United States and the 14th modern-era Cup series season. The season began on Sunday, February 10 and ended on Sunday, November 17. Darrell Waltrip, driving for Junior Johnson, was crowned champion (for the third time in his career) at the end of the season. Bill Elliott, driving for Harry Melling, had won 11 races in 1985 (as well as the Winston Million), but lost the title by 101 points to three-time race winner Waltrip. This was the first season where all races were televised in some form. This would be the last season without Dale Jarrett until 2009 and Mark Martin until 2014. The Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400 is an annual 400-lap NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at the Martinsville Speedway in Ridgeway, Virginia. It had no name from 1950 to 1955, before taking the name Virginia 500 in 1956. It is the first of two races at the track, the other one being the Xfinity 500 in the NASCAR playoffs. The DuraMAX Drydene 400 presented by RelaDyne is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held annually at Dover Motor Speedway in Dover, Delaware in the spring. History The 2020 race was postponed to August due to the COVID-19 pandemic and became a doubleheader with the second race. Both events were named the Drydene 311 as their race lengths were shortened. For 2021, the race length was restored to 400 miles. Alex Bowman won the race in 2021 as part of a historic 1-2-3-4 finish for Hendrick Motorsports. In September 2021, RelaDyne bought the Drydene brand which was the title sponsor of the race. The company added another one of their brands, DuraMAX, to the title sponsor of the race. The Cook Out 400 is an annual NASCAR Cup Series stock car racing, stock car race held at the Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia, being the second of two races at the track with the first one being the Toyota Owners 400 in the spring. The Southern 500, officially known as the Cook Out Southern 500 for sponsorship reasons, is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina, United States. The Bass Pro Shops Night Race is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee. The YellaWood 500 is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race held at Talladega Superspeedway in Lincoln, Alabama, hosting an event in the NASCAR playoffs. The race is one of four NASCAR Cup Series races currently run with tapered spacers, the others being the GEICO 500 in May, the Coke Zero Sugar 400, and the Daytona 500. Through 1996, this race was normally held in early August or late July.
