Blackbird (Norma John Song)
Finland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Blackbird" written by Lasse Piirainen and Leena Tirronen. The song was performed by the duo Norma John. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final ''Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2017'' in order to select the Finnish entry for the 2017 contest in Kyiv, Ukraine. Ten entries were selected to compete in the national final on 28 January 2017 where the 50/50 combination of votes from ten international jury groups and votes from the public selected "Blackbird" performed by Norma John as the winner. Finland was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 9 May 2017. Performing during the show in position 7, "Blackbird" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final. Christian Ingebrigtsen (born 25 January 1977) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter and musician. He is a member of the pop group A1. Biography Ingebrigtsen was born in Oslo, Norway, into a musical family. His father Stein Ingebrigtsen was the biggest selling recording artist in Norway in the 1970s. Amir Aly (born 21 July 1976) is a Swedish songwriter and record producer. He has worked with some of the foremost artists in Sweden, including Jill Johnson, Elena Paparizou, Danny Saucedo, Robin Stjernberg, Sanna Nielsen and Shirley Clamp. Mats Söderlund (born 25 July 1967), better known by his stage name Günther, is a Swedish singer. Career Söderlund was a model in his youth, and then later he was the owner of two nightclubs in Malmö. Günther's 2004 song "Ding Dong Song" became popular in Sweden.
