Black On Black (song)
"Black on Black" is a song written and performed by Canadian singer Dalbello. It was first released as a single in 1985 and was re-recorded for Dalbello's fifth studio album ''she'', released in 1987. In 1993, American rock band Heart recorded a version as "Black on Black II" for their eleventh studio album ''Desire Walks On''. Dalbello version Dalbello wrote and demoed "Black on Black" in 1985, and it was first released as a non-album single in Europe in the late part of that year. The song was included on the soundtrack to the American erotic romantic drama film ''9½ Weeks'', which was released in February 1986. The director Adrian Lyne had heard Dalbello's 1984 album ''Whomanfoursays'' and contacted her with the request of writing the film's score. Due to touring commitments, she was unable to accept the offer, but instead provided the completed demo versions of "Black on Black" and "Baby Doll" for his consideration. Dalbello
Lisa Dal Bello (born 22 May 1959), also known as Dalbello, is a Canadian musician. She released three albums in the pop and pop/rock genre in her late teens, from 1977 through 1981 under her full name. In 1984, she re-emerged as Dalbello, with an edgier brand of alternative rock. Early life Born to Italian and British parents, Dalbello grew up in Weston, Toronto, and then with her family moved to Vaughan. At age 11, she began playing guitar and writing her own songs, performing at the Mariposa Folk Festival and the Fiddlers' Green club in Toronto. Scott Humphrey
Scott Humphrey is a Canadian record producer and mix engineer. He began his music career as a keyboard player and programmer. He is best known for his work with multiplatinum recording artist Rob Zombie and has co-written, co-produced and mixed all of his records up to 2007's ''Zombie Live''. He was also Rob Zombie's co-composer for the score to Zombie's film ''House of 1000 Corpses''. Much of the production work was done at Humphrey's studio, The Chop Shop.
