Black Tears (Conan Story)
"Black Tears" is a short story by American writers L. Sprague de Camp and Lin Carter, featuring the fictional sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian created by Robert E. Howard. It was first published by Lancer Books in the paperback collection ''Conan the Wanderer'' (1968), which was reprinted several times, first by Lancer and later by Ace Books through 1982. It has since been published by Orbit Books in the omnibus paperback collection ''The Conan Chronicles 2'' (1990). Adaptations The story was adapted by Roy Thomas and Ernie Chan in issue #35, cover-dated November 1978, of the Marvel Comics magazine series '' The Savage Sword of Conan''. ''Conan and the Manhunters'' is a fantasy novel by American writer John Maddox Roberts, featuring Robert E. Howard's sword and sorcery hero Conan the Barbarian. Plot Conan, imprisoned by a satrap named Torgat Khan, escapes and is reunited with a band of thieves he had been leading in the deserts southwest of Turan. ''The Savage Sword of Conan'' was a black-and-white magazine-format comic book series published beginning in 1974 by Curtis Magazines, an imprint of American company Marvel Comics, and then later by Marvel itself. ''Savage Sword of Conan'' starred Robert E. Howard's most famous creation, Conan the Barbarian, and has the distinction of being the longest-surviving title of the short-lived Curtis imprint. Ernesto Chan (July 27, 1940 – May 16, 2012), born and sometimes credited as Ernie Chua, was a FilipinoAmerican comics artist, known for work published by Marvel Comics and DC Comics, including many Marvel issues of series featuring Conan the Barbarian. Chan also had a long tenure on ''Batman'' and ''Detective Comics''.
