Black Minnaloushe
Black Minnaloushe (foaled 5 February 1998) is an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Bred in Kentucky, he was sold as a yearling and sent to Ireland to race for the Irish-based Coolmore Stud organisation. After winning both his races as a juvenile, he was initially disappointing in the early part of 2001 but then showed marked improvement to win the Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes. He was beaten in his last four races and was retired to stud at the end of the year. He has had success as a breeding stallion in the United States, New Zealand and South Africa. Storm Cat (February 27, 1983 – April 24, 2013) was an American Thoroughbred stallion whose breeding fee during the peak of his stud career was $500,000, the highest in North America at the time. He was the leading sire in North America in 1999 and 2000, and the leading juvenile (two-year-old) sire a record seven times. He sired 108 graded stakes winners and eight champions, including Giant's Causeway, who also became a leading sire. Although best known as a sire, Storm Cat was one of the best two-year-old racehorses of his generation, winning the Grade I Young America Stakes and finishing second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Prix Marcel Boussac
The Prix Marcel Boussac is a Group 1 flat horse race in France open to two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run at Longchamp over a distance of 1,600 metres (about 1 mile), and it is scheduled to take place each year in early October. It is France's only Group 1 event exclusively for juvenile fillies. The leading participants usually become major contenders for the following year's fillies' Classics. History The event was established in 1969, and it was originally called the Critérium des Pouliches. The best two-year-old fillies had previously competed against male horses in the Grand Critérium. Tabasco Cat (April 15, 1991 – March 6, 2004) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was best known for his performances in 1994 when he won the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes, the second and third legs of the Triple Crown Series. Storm Flag Flying (foaled April 11, 2000 at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky – January 22, 2016) was an American Champion Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies in 2002. Background Storm Flag Flying was a bay mare who was bred in Kentucky by the Phipps Stable, which was operated at the time by Ogden Phipps. She was by leading sire Storm Cat, whose stud fee at the time was $200,000, later increased to $500,000. Storm Flag Flying's dam was My Flag, who was by champion Easy Goer and out of another champion, the undefeated Personal Ensign. One Cool Cat, (foaled 26 March 2001) was an American-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Background One Cool Cat was a bay horse bred in Kentucky by Winstar Farm. He was sired by Storm Cat out of the Mr. Prospector mare, Tacha. At the 2002 Keeneland Sales he was purchased by Demi O'Byrne for $3.1-million on behalf of John Magnier's Coolmore organization. A daughter of Storm Cat out of the champion filly Serena's Song she was sold for $3.7 million as a yearling and raced in Europe for the Coolmore Stud organization. Racing as a two-year-old, she won only one minor race but was placed in the Queen Mary Stakes, Silver Flash Stakes, Lowther Stakes, Moyglare Stud Stakes and Cheveley Park Stakes.
