Black Mafia (album)
''Black Mafia'' is the second studio album released by American hip hop duo Steady Mobb'n. It was released on November 24, 1998, through No Limit Records, and was produced by Beats By the Pound and Meech Wells; according to group member Billy Bavgate, the record was completed in one week. The only released single, "Ghetto Life", was a minor hit, but the album failed to match the major success of their 1997 debut ''Pre-Meditated Drama'', peaking at #82 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and #19 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. Steady Mobb'n departed No Limit thereafter. Most critics blame the albums lackluster sales and weak delivery on the account of DJ Daryl not being present on the album. Black Mafia had sold 21,000 copies in its first week. Steady Mobb'n
Steady Mobb'n was an American hip hop duo composed of Crooked Eye and Billy Bathgate, from the Ghost Town section of West Oakland. The duo were formally signed to No Limit Records & Bomb Shelter Entertainment in the late 1990s. Music career In 1995, Steady Mobb'n released a cassette EP titled ''Blood Money''. Two years later the duo joined rapper/entrepreneur Master P's No Limit Records, and collaborated with Master P on the single "If I Could Change", which was produced by No Limit Records in-house producer DJ Daryl and served as the first single from the ''I'm Bout It'' soundtrack. Big Ed (rapper)
Edward Lee Knight (November 2, 1971 – July 24, 2001), best known by his stage name Big Ed the Assassin, often shortened to Big Ed, was an American rapper. Knight was signed to Master P's No Limit Records in 1992, and appeared on numerous No Limit releases during the 1990s, contributing to releases by Master P, C-Murder, Mac, Soulja Slim and more. Knight later released his debut album, The Assassin through No Limit Records in 1998. Knight would go on to leave No Limit in 2000, starting his own label, Special Forces Records. Knight released his second album, Special Forces, through the label on May 9, 2000. Knights third and final album, Edward Lee Knight 1971-2001, was released posthumously in August 2002. Prime Suspects was an American rap group from the 3rd Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. The group was composed of Glock, New-9 & Uzi, that was signed to Master P's No Limit Records. The group appeared on many of No Limit's releases including Master P's ''Ghetto D'' and Magic's '' Sky's the Limit'', among others. They released their debut album in late 1998 entitled, Guilty Til Proven Innocent, but it failed to live up to the success of some of No Limit's other albums, peaking at only #36 on the ''Billboard'' 200. Full Blooded (also known as Da Hound) is an American rapper formerly signed to Master P's No Limit Records in the late 1990s. Full Blooded made his debut in 1998 on C-Murder's debut album '' Life or Death'' on the song titled "On The Run" and on the song titled "Ghetto Ties". He would continue to make guest appearances on several No Limit albums before releasing his debut album ''Memorial Day'' on December 1, 1998. Unlike most No Limit albums, ''Memorial Day'' was a commercial disappointment, only reaching number 112 on the ''Billboard'' 200. The Gambino Family was an American hip hop group founded by Master P in 1997, named after the Gambino crime family. The four members of the group were Lil Gotti (after John Gotti), Malachi, Pheno and Reginelli (after Marco Reginelli). Michael Lawrence Tyler (born September 22, 1970), better known by his stage name Mystikal, is an American rapper. Early life and education Tyler grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana's 12th Ward. His father, who ran a small neighborhood store, died when Tyler was seven. He attended Cohen High School and afterward joined the United States Army as a combat engineer. As an aspiring rapper, he opened for Run-DMC and Doug E. Fresh at an outdoor concert at the Treme Center.
