''Smooth Velvet, Raw Silk'' (also known as ''Velluto nero'' and ''Black Emmanuelle, White Emmanuelle'') is a 1976 sexploitation film directed by Brunello Rondi. Despite the alternate title, and the presence of Laura Gemser, it has no relation to other ''Emanuelle'' films and doesn't feature any characters with that name. Plot Fashion model Laura and her abusive husband Carlo travel to Egypt to visit Laura's wealthy but sexually frustrated friend Crystal. Laura soon befriends Crystal's liberated daughter Pina, and falls under the spell of corrupt spiritual guru Horatio. Brunello Rondi
Brunello Rondi (26 November 1924 – 7 November 1989) was a prolific Italian screen writer and film director best known for his frequent script collaborations with Federico Fellini. His brother, Gian Luigi Rondi, was an Italian film critic. Biography Noted chiefly as a script-writer and script consultant, Rondi began his film career with the script for 1947's '' Last Love'' for which he was also assistant director. He worked as assistant director as well as an uncredited writer on ''The Flowers of St. Francis'' (1950) by Roberto Rossellini and was a credited writer on Rossellini's ''Europa '51'' (1952). He started to work with Federico Fellini as artistic director on ''La Strada'' (1954) and ''Nights of Cabiria'' (1957). Nieves Navarro
Nieves Navarro García (born November 11, 1938) is a retired Spanish-born Italian actress and fashion model. Navarro worked extensively in Italian cinema appearing alongside actors such as Totò and Lino Banfi in the 1960s and 1970s. She later adopted the Americanized stage name Susan Scott for many of her productions after 1969. Navarro was also one of the first female stars of the Spaghetti Western genre making her feature film debut in ''A Pistol for Ringo'' and its sequel '' The Return of Ringo'' along with later appearances in ''The Big Gundown'' (1966), ''Long Days of Vengeance'' (1967), '' Light the Fuse...
