The Treasure Planet
''Treasure Planet'' (Bulgarian: ) is a 1982 Bulgarian animated science fiction film directed by Rumen Petkov and produced by the Sofia Animation Studio. The 62-minute movie is a science fiction adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's 1883 adventure novel ''Treasure Island'', and was released 20 years before Disney’s ''Treasure Planet,'' another movie with the same concept. Black Dog Books was an independent publisher and production house based in Fitzroy, Victoria, Australia. Since 2011 it is an imprint of Walker Books. It focuses on children's literature (as does the Walker Group) but publishes books in all genres. History Black Dog Books publish books in all genres but have a main focus on children's literature. The company's books are distributed in Australia by Murdoch Books, New Zealand by Scholastic Corporation, and in South Africa by Rynew Educational Enterprises. Black Dog Books is also a production house, producing books for Horwitz Martin and Pearson Education. The company has published multiple award-winning and short-list nominee titles. Black Dog Halt Railway Station
Black Dog Halt is a former railway station on the Chippenham and Calne line in Wiltshire, England. Originally created in 1863 as a private stop for Lord Lansdowne of Bowood House, it became a public request stop after the formation of British Rail. The halt was closed and demolished in 1965, and today it is part of National Cycle Route 403. History Black Dog Halt was opened on 3 November 1863 by the Calne Railway company. Lord Lansdowne of Bowood House used the halt as a private station; use by the public was allowed, though it was not common knowledge. Lord Lansdowne had a special compartment in one of the Calne line's autocoaches. Later he was persuaded to allow the halt to be named on the timetable. The Calne Railway company was sold to the Great Western Railway in 1892. After the formation of British Rail the halt was turned into a request stop. The black dog is a supernatural, spectral, or demonic entity originating from English folklore that has also been seen throughout Europe and the Americas. The Black Dog was a prison in Newhall Market, now Cornmarket, in Dublin, Ireland. Built as a square tower and originally known as Browne's Castle, the site became a tavern and was in use as a prison from at least the 17th century. It was in use up until the late 18th century, when it was replaced by a number of new prisons, including Newgate Prison (built 1783) and a new Sheriff's Prison on Green Street (built 1794). The Black Dog is a restaurant and tavern in Vineyard Haven on the island of Martha's Vineyard. The restaurant was founded in 1971 and became well known for its souvenir T-shirts featuring the logo of the eponymous black dog. They subsequently expanded to sell other products with the same logo. The Black Dog T-shirts became well known during the 1990s as photographs of celebrities wearing the shirts began appearing in national publications. For example, a photograph of then-President Bill Clinton jogging while wearing one was distributed by national wire services. Black Dog merchandise became part of the Lewinsky scandal, as items from the store were purchased by Bill Clinton and given to Monica Lewinsky. Marketing at The Black Dog was effective.
