Black Cobra is an American heavy metal music, heavy metal duo from San Francisco, California. The band was formed in 2001 by former Cavity (band), Cavity guitarist Jason Landrian and Acid King bassist and Gammera guitarist Rafael Martinez. Their first release, a self-titled and self-released 7" EP, containing the three tracks "Interceptor", "Fall and Fall Again", and "Silverback", was engineered by Martinez and issued on August 27, 2004. Eternal Elysium
are a Japanese doom metal band founded in 1991. History Eternal Elysium have recorded six albums and six splits/EPs over their career. They were formed in 1991 by guitarist/vocalist Yukito Okazaki and have gone through numerous line-up changes over the years. Okazaki was joined by bassist Atsutoshi Tachimoto and drummer Jiro Murakami for some demo recordings and the first album, ''Faithful''. In 1993 both Tachimoto and Murakami departed in Okazaki enlisted a new rhythm section consisting of bassist Jun Kawasaki and drummer Yashuhiro Okada. This line-up soon folded and Okaziki brought in Eiichi Okuyama on bass and Takashi Kuroda on drums. This line-up was put on hold when Okazaki fell ill and had to cancel tour plans. By 1997 the band was back and recorded songs for a slew of compilation albums, including ''At the Mountains of Madness'' and ''I Am Vengeance''. Sludge Metal
Sludge metal (also known as sludge or sludge doom) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that originated through combining elements of doom metal and hardcore punk. It is typically harsh and abrasive, often featuring shouted vocals, heavily distorted instruments and sharply contrasting tempos. The Melvins from the US state of Washington produced the first sludge metal albums in the mid-late 1980s. Characteristics The key characteristics of both sludge and doom metal are a slow tempo combined with down-tuned, heavily- distorted guitars to deliver the heaviest feel that is possible. The drummer must be able to lead the band through the slow parts of a piece with an accurate time feel, which is much harder to achieve when compared with playing faster pieces. Cavity (band)
Cavity is an American sludge metal band from Miami, Florida. They first formed in 1992, releasing a multitude of albums and singles before breaking up in 2003. Steve Brooks and Juan Montoya would go on to play in Torche and Floor. Anthony Vialon, Henry Wilson and Beatriz Monteavaro also played in Floor. Jason Landrian went on to form Black Cobra. In 2015, the group reunited and toured the United States for the first time since their dissolution. The group issued their first album since their reunion, titled ''After Death'', through Valley King in 2017. Acid King
Acid King is an American stoner metal band from San Francisco, California. It was formed in 1993 by frontwoman Lori S., drummer Joey Osbourne and bassist Peter Lucas. Acid King have since recorded four studio albums and two EPs with a series of bassists. The band's name was inspired by the crimes of Ricky Kasso, who murdered his friend Gary Lauwers in Northport, New York on June 19, 1984. Kasso was nicknamed "Acid King" by his peers due to his chronic hallucinogenic drug use. The band's self-titled debut EP features a photograph of Kasso on its cover. The band itself has also been featured in two books – ''The Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal'' and the ''A to Z of Doom, Gothic & Stoner Metal'' – both published in 2003.
