Christina Bjornsdatter
Christina of Denmark ( da, Kirstine Bjørnsdatter, sv, Kristina Björnsdotter; 1120/25 – 1160/70), was Queen of Sweden as the wife of King Eric "IX" (r. 1156–1160), and the mother of King Canute I of Sweden. Life According to the ''Knýtlinga saga'', Christina was the daughter of Bjørn Haraldsen Ironside, son of the Danish prince Harald Kesja, and his consort, the Swedish princess Katarina Ingesdotter, daughter of King Inge I of Sweden. It has been calculated that she was born no earlier than c. 1122, which fits with the approximate birthdate of her future husband Eric (c. 1120–25). Kristjan Valdimar "Val" Bjornson (August 29, 1906 – March 10, 1987) was an American writer, newspaper editor, and politician who served as State Treasurer for more than two decades. Bjornson was born in Minneota, Minnesota of Icelandic descent. In World War II, he served in Navy intelligence, stationed in Iceland. Besides English, he was fluent in Icelandic, Finnish, Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian. He was part owner of the '' Minneota Mascot'' newspaper and an associate editor at the '' St. Paul Pioneer Press''. Running as the Republican candidate in the 1954 United States Senate elections, Bjornson lost to Hubert Humphrey, with whom he sometimes shared a car to travel around the state. Rosella Marie Bjornson, (born July 13, 1947) is a retired Canadian airline pilot, who was the first woman in North America to be hired as a First Officer for a Canadian airline and the first woman member of the Canadian Air Line Pilots Association, International. Oscar Ferdinand Bjornson (February 14, 1906 in Glenboro, Manitoba – August 13, 1972) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served as a Progressive Conservative member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1959 to 1969. The son of Magnus Bjornson, Bjornson was educated at the Kelvin Technical High School, and worked as an accountant and service manager. In 1925, he married Idella Moland. Maria Elena Björnson (16 February 1949 – 13 December 2002) was a theatre designer. She was born in Paris to a Norwegian father and Romanian mother. She was the great-granddaughter of the Norwegian playwright Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1903. She apparently died of a suspected epileptic seizure.
