Bjarne Jensen (footballer)
Bjarne Jensen (; born 16 April 1959) is a Danish former footballer who played as a defender. Jensen continues to hold the record of most appearances for Brøndby IF with 556, of which 402 were in the Danish leagues. He continued as a manager after his playing career. Club career Jensen spent all 14 seasons of his playing career with Brøndby IF before retiring at age 33 in 1992. From his senior debut in 1978, where the club competed in the 2nd Division (second-tier) until his retirement, Jensen won 5 Danish championships and 1 Danish Cup. He won the award of Brøndby Player of the Year twice; in 1984 and 1988, while also winning Danish Player of the Year in the latter. Jensen played his final Brøndby game in November 1992, before ending his career. He still holds Brøndby IF's record of most appearances with 556 senior games, in which he scored 32 goals. Brøndby Municipality
Brøndby Kommune (), a municipality ( da, kommune) in the former Copenhagen County (now Region Hovedstaden), is on the east coast of the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. The 1985 Danish 1st Division season was the 40th season of the Danish 1st Division league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. The Danish champions qualified for the European Cup 1986-87 qualification, while the second placed team qualified for the qualification round of the UEFA Cup 1986-87. Danish League Cup
The Danish League Cup, was a football competition, arranged by ''Divisionsforeningen'', for all the top level Danish football teams. The competition has existed in various formats, with the exact name of the league depending on the sponsor. For instance, the Danish League Cup was named Carlsberg Grand Prix in 1984, where Brøndby IF won the trophy. While the name changed to Spar Cup in 1996, where FC Copenhagen won the trophy. The last time the League Cup was organised as an official tournament was apparently in 1996. It shortly reappeared in 2005-2006, as the tournament known as Tele2 LigaCup. Games played in the Tele2 LigaCup were however not counted as official matches by the Danish Football Association, as the matches were only played with one regular half (45 minutes). The Tele2 LigaCup also had a limited representation of clubs, as the format was just a round-robin tournament between the top 3 finishers of the Danish Superliga. The 1991 Danish Superliga season was the 1st season of the Danish Superliga league championship, governed by the Danish Football Association. After about 33 years it had been decided to abandon the format where the league would follow the calendar year, therefore the first superliga season was a short dash through the spring of 1991. The following season would kick off in August and end in May. There was no continental qualification as it had been decided the previous year, with Brøndby IF qualifying for the 1991–92 European Cup, and B 1903 qualifying for the 1991–92 UEFA Cup along with Ikast fS.
