Biyer Phool
''Biyer Phool'' () is a 1996 Indian Bengali-language romantic family drama film, directed and co-written by Ram Mukherjee. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Indrani Haldar and Rani Mukerji in her debut. It was shot in Gangtok and coordinated with the filming of ''Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat'', another home production and Rani's Hindi film debut, which was simultaneously shooting in the area. Though the plot of the movie is loosely based on the Telugu blockbuster of the same year, Pelli Sandadi, it was heavily modified to suit the Bengali audience. Later on, it achieved a cult status as one of the most evergreen Bengali family blockbusters, even after years. Ram Mukherjee
Ram Mukerji (18 October 1933 — 22 October 2017) was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He was one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios, Mumbai. He is most known for his films, '' Hum Hindustani'' (1960) and ''Leader'' (1964), starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala. He belonged to the Mukerji-Samarth family, as his father Ravindramohan Mukherjee was the elder brother of Sashadhar Mukherjee, and one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios. His wife Krishna Mukherjee is a playback singer, his daughter Rani Mukerji is a noted Bollywood actress, and his son is director Raja Mukerji. ''Pelli Sandadi'' () is a 1996 Indian Telugu-language musical romance film written and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao. The film stars Srikanth, Ravali and Deepti Bhatnagar. Vijayta Pandit is an Indian actress and playback singer, most famous for her first film '' Love Story'' (1981). Early life and background Vijayta comes from a musical family originating from Pili Mandori Village in Hissar district of Haryana state. Pandit Jasraj is her uncle. Chinmoy Roy (1940–2019) was an Indian Bengali male actor. He was famous for his comic roles in Bengali movies, though his versatility has allowed him to play a variety of roles. Though he was known for portraying various character roles, Roy was equally at ease in portraying the famous fictional character Tenida on screen. He held his own among prominent performers like Soumitra Chatterjee, Robi Ghose and Tarun Kumar in the comedies ''Basanto Bilap'', ''Dhonni Meye'', and ''Nanigopaler Biye''.
