Bislamach
The School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders ( Hebrew: ''Beit HaSefer LiMfakdei Kitot UMiktzo'ot Heil HaRaglim'', best known by its acronym Bislamach) is the Israel Defense Forces body responsible for the training of all Infantry Corps squad commanders and platoon sergeants. Established in 1974 under the command of Yaakov Hasdai, the school comprises three operative battalions (17th, 906th, and 450th), ordinarily used for training. During wars or emergencies, as was the case during the Yom Kippur War, these serve as fully operational combat forces. Since 2006 these battalions form the 828th Brigade (formerly 772th Brigade), referred to as the ''Bislamach Brigade'' (formerly called ''Bislach Brigade''). The school has three bases, all located in the Negev. In wartime the School formes the Infantry Brigade "Bislamach". As part of the 7 October 2023 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel, attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, a military engagement took place near Zikim, Zikim, Israel between Hamas militants and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Oz Brigade
The 89th Brigade "Oz" ("Courage" in Hebrew) is a special operation forces brigade of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). It was established in December 2015. The new brigade, dubbed the Commando Brigade, is composed solely of infantry special-operations units removed from their previous chain of command structures to create a new tactical formation. Commanded by Aluf Mishne (Colonel) Omer Cohen, the brigade operates as part of the 98th Division. Bureij
Bureij ( ar, البريج) is a Palestinian refugee camp located in the central Gaza Strip east of the Salah al-Din Road in the Deir al-Balah Governorate. The camp's total land area is 529 dunums and in 2017, it had a population of 28,024 with 28,770 registered refugees. The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) 2017 census listed a population of 15,491 in the surrounding Bureij municipality apart from the camp population. The camp was established in 1949 with a population of 13,000 Palestinians from the broader Gaza area. A small percentage of the refugees were housed in the British army barracks but the bulk of them were housed in tents. The UNRWA built concrete homes in 1950 to replace the tents.
