__NOTOC__ Bifus or Bisi was a medieval Bishop of the East Angles. Bifus was consecrated in 669 or 670. He resigned the see in 672. He was the last bishop of the East Angles. Bede in his history, records that he attended the Council of Hertford in 672. Paolo Bisi
Paolo Bisi (born September 27, 1964, in Piacenza, Italy), is an Italian comic book artist, mostly known for his work on "Mister No", " Zagor" and " Lazarus Ledd" series. He won the national Italian competition for young comics artist "Pierrlamibichi" in Prato, in 1981. After getting his degree at the Art Institute of Parma, he worked between 1987 and 1993 as a storyboard and layout artist, as well as illustrator for children books, for numerous clients in Milan. He returned to comics in 1992, with "La Casa dei Fantasmi", a story he created with writer Marcello Toninelli, published in ''Dark Magazine'' (Granata Press). Martin Bisi (born 1961) is an American producer and songwriter. He is known for recording important records by Sonic Youth, Swans, John Zorn, Material, Bill Laswell, Helmet, Unsane, The Dresden Dolls, Cop Shoot Cop, White Zombie, Boredoms, Angels of Light, J.G. Luigi Bisi
Luigi Bisi (10 May 1814 – 11 November 1886) was an Italian architect and painter. He was the most notable member of an artistic family. Life Bisi was born in Milan on 10 May 1814, the son of the painter Michele Bisi. He studied under his father and his uncle Giuseppe Bisi, and then under Francesco Durelli at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. It is sometimes suggested that he also studied under Giovanni Migliara. Bisi succeeded Durelli as teacher of perspective at the Accademia, and taught there for more than 30 years. In 1879 he became president of that academy. He died in Milan on 11 November 1886. Work As a young man Bisi painted airy ''vedute'', but most of his paintings are of interiors, mostly churches, and most particularly the Duomo di Milano, which he claimed to have painted eighty-seven times. Giuseppe Bisi
Giuseppe Bisi (1787–1869) was an Italian painter, mainly of landscapes in a Romantic style. In 1829, he traveled to Rome, and painted landscapes in Lazio. He returned to Milan and in 1838, was named professor of landscape painter for the Accademia di Brera. He was the brother of the painter Michele Bisi, and married the painter Ernesta Legnani; their daughter Fulvia Bisi trained as a painter with her father. His nephew Luigi became a prominent painter. Fulvia Bisi
Fulvia Bisi (1818–1911) was an Italian landscape painter. Biography She was born in Milan. Her father, the landscape painter Giuseppe Bisi, had studied under the engraver Giuseppe Longhi; her mother was Ernesta Legnani. She apprenticed with her father, whose style and subjects she adopted in her early works. In 1842 she made her debut at the Esposizione di Belle Arti at the Brera Academy and assiduously participated in the following editions of the exhibition until 1859. Her uncle, Luigi Bisi, became president of the Academy in 1880. After being awarded a prize at the Brera Academy in 1845 for a large mountain landscape, Bisi became established on the Milanese art scene as an heir to the Romantic Lombard tradition. Ernesta Legnani Bisi
Ernesta Legnani Bisi (June 18, 1788 – November 13, 1859) was an Italian painter and engraver. Born in Milan, she became a student of the Brera Academy, where she studied under the direction of Giuseppe Longhi. She was recognized as a brilliant student, and won the prize in 1810 for the design of the Academy. In 1811 she married Giuseppe Bisi from Genoa, a painter and professor of the Academy, by whom she had five children. She was a strong supporter of Italian independence, and a friend of many women of the Carbonari (the so-called ''charcoal burners''), such as the painter Bianca Milesi. In his poem "Dodes sonitt all'abaa Giovan", Carlo Porta remembered her: "È in tra i donn la Milesi, la Legnana" ("Among the women, Milesi, Legnana"). Emilio Bisi
Emilio Bisi (Milan, November 7, 1850 – Milan, February 19, 1920) was an Italian sculptor. His father was Luigi Bisi, a painter and president of the Brera Academy in Milan from 1880 till his death in 1886. Emilio donated a memorial statue of his father to the Academy. In 1883, Emilio's wife was a writer, Sofia Albini. He worked mostly on commissions for funeral monuments and churches. He completed the ''Santa Melania'' for the Duomo of Milan, two tombs for the brothers Maccia in the Monumental Cemetery of Milan, and a monument to Antonio Soneino Gussala, the friend of Pietro Giordani and donor of his manuscripts in the Mauricelliana Library.
