Eric Wall
Eric St Quintin Wall (19 April 1915 – 11 April 2011) was the second Bishop of Huntingdon from 1972 to 1980 and from then on an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Gloucester. The son of a clergyman – Sydney Herbert Wall —, he was born on 19 April 1915 and educated at Clifton College and Brasenose College, Oxford. Hexham Abbey
Hexham Abbey is a Grade I listed place of Christian worship dedicated to St Andrew, in the town of Hexham, Northumberland, in the North East of England. Originally built in AD 674, the Abbey was built up during the 12th century into its current form, with additions around the turn of the 20th century. Since the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1537, the Abbey has been the parish church of Hexham. Dagmar Winter (bishop)
Dagmar Winter (born 1965) is a bishop in the Church of England. Since 2019, she has served as Bishop of Huntingdon, a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Ely. She was previously priest in charge of a large, rural parish in Northumbria (2006–2015), and Rector of Hexham Abbey (2015–2019). Early life and education Winter was born in 1963 and is of British and Swiss-German descent. She studied at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg and Heidelberg University in Germany. She trained for ordination at Herborn Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1996, during which she also completed a Doctor of Theology (DrTheol) degree. The Archdeacon of Carlisle is a senior ecclesiastical officer within the Diocese of Carlisle. David Thomson (bishop)
David Thomson, (born 2 February 1952) is a British retired Church of England bishop. From 2008 to 2013, he was the Bishop of Huntingdon, sole suffragan bishop of the Diocese of Ely. Early life Thomson was born in Sunderland, County Durham, where his father, Ronald, was assistant curate; the family moved to the Sheffield area two years later (Ronald was curate of Attercliffe until 1957, and then Vicar of Shiregreen; he has since become an honorary canon of Sheffield). David was educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield, followed by Keble College, Oxford, where he was awarded his Oxford Master of Arts (MA Oxon) and Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) degrees in 1978. John Robert Flack (born 30 May 1942) is an English Anglican bishop. He is a former Bishop of Huntingdon and Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome. Flack was educated at Leeds University and the College of the Resurrection at Mirfield. He was made deacon in 1966 and ordained priest in 1967. After Curate, curacies at Armley and Northampton he was Vicar of St James Crigglestone, Chapelthorpe from 1972 to 1981. William Gordon Roe (5 January 193219 July 1999) was a British Anglican bishop who served as Bishop of Huntingdon (the suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Ely) from 1980 until 1997. Roe was educated at Bournemouth School, Jesus College, Oxford and St Stephen's House. He was made deacon on Trinity Sunday 1958 (1 June) and ordained priest the Trinity Sunday following (24 May 1959) — both times by Alwyn Williams, Bishop of Winchester, at Winchester Cathedral. Bishop Of Blackburn
The Bishop of Blackburn is the Ordinary of the Church of England Diocese of Blackburn in the Province of York. The diocese covers much of the county of Lancashire and has its see in the town of Blackburn, where the seat of the diocese is located at the Cathedral Church of Saint Mary. Suffragan Bishop
A suffragan bishop is a type of bishop in some Christian denominations. In the Anglican Communion, a suffragan bishop is a bishop who is subordinate to a metropolitan bishop or diocesan bishop (bishop ordinary) and so is not normally jurisdictional in their role. Suffragan bishops may be charged by a metropolitan to oversee a suffragan diocese and may be assigned to areas which do not have a cathedral of their own.
