Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School
Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School, popularly known as BG or BeeGee, was founded in 1960 by Bishop Caesar Gatimu in Karatina, Nyeri County, Kenya. It was first named "Ngandu Girls' High School" for the area where it was situated. The name was later changed to honour its founder. It was originally run by the Comboni mission. Sister Nazarena Zonta and her deputy ran the school until 1983. Lay principals (or headmistresses) have headed the school since. The school's Old Girls' group, (ONGA - Old Ngandu Girls Association) is uniting with alumni to help revamp the school and collect donations. The group visits the school to talk to the student body and offer them career advice and leadership. It has five streams from form 2 to 4 except form 1 which has seven steams and has 15 dormitories. The Right Reverend Caesar Gatimu (born 18 May 1921, Limuru, Kenya - died 20 February 1987, Nyeri, Kenya) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nyeri, Kenya. Vocation On 17 March 1947, aged 25, Gatimu was ordained as a priest of the Archdiocese of Nyeri, Kenya. On 18 April 1961, close to age 40, he was appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of Nyeri and as Bishop Titular of Abila in Palaestina. The following month he was ordained as the Bishop Titular of Abila in Palaestina. Grace Mumbi Ngugi is a Kenyan lawyer and a Judge of the High Court of Kenya. She is serving in the Anti-corruption and Economic Crimes Division of the Court. Education in Kenya refers to the education system in Kenya. It is considered a basic right that should be offered to every individual. Education in Kenya predates to as early as the 18th century among the Swahili people. The earliest school was established by missionaries in Rabai. During the colonial era, the number of Kenyans with exposure to education steadily increased and a good number of them were privileged to proceed abroad for further education. Grace Kobilo Kiptui (born 1967) is a Kenyan politician who served as the woman representative of Baringo County from 2013 until 2017. Cecilia Wairimu (born 28 November 1980), better known by her stage name Amani, is a Kenyan singer and songwriter.
