Bishop England
Bishop England High School is a diocesan Roman Catholic four-year high school in Charleston, South Carolina, United States. It was located on Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston until it moved to a newly constructed 40-acre campus located on Daniel Island in 1998. With an enrollment of 730, Bishop England is the largest private high school in the state of South Carolina. The school was founded in 1915 and was named after John England, the first bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston. History On September 22, 1915, Catholic High School opened as a department of the Cathedral School on Queen Street. The Reverend Msgr. Joseph L. Ashley Hall is a private school for girls located in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, United States for students in pre-kindergarten-grade 12. It was founded in 1909 by Mary Vardrine McBee, who headed the institution for many years. It is the only all-girls' independent private school in South Carolina. Ashley Hall enrolls girls 2 years to grade 12 with a coeducational preschool. For the 2019-2020 school year, Ashley Hall enrolled 640 students. Drew Meyer
Drew Edward Meyer (born August 29, 1981) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers. Career Meyer attended Bishop England High School in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as the University of South Carolina. In 2000 and 2001, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham A's of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Miss Teen USA 1998, the 16th Miss Teen USA pageant, was televised live from Shreveport, Louisiana on 17 August 1998. At the conclusion of the final competition, Vanessa Minnillo of South Carolina was crowned by outgoing queen Shelly Moore of Tennessee. The pageant was hosted by Mario Lopez with color commentary by Ali Landry and Julie Moran. Landry held the Miss Louisiana Teen USA 1990, Miss Louisiana USA 1996 and Miss USA 1996 titles, making the semi-finals at Miss Teen USA 1990 pageant before winning Miss USA 1996. South Carolina Senate
The South Carolina Senate is the upper house of the South Carolina General Assembly, the lower house being the South Carolina House of Representatives. It consists of 46 senators elected from single member districts for four-year terms at the same time as United States presidential elections. The South Carolina Constitution of 1895 provided for each county to elect one senator for a four-year term.
