Berhanu Alemu Feysa (; born 16 July 1982) is an Ethiopian former middle-distance runner specializing in the 800 metres. Birhanu Bayeh
Berhanu Beyeh (born 1938) is a former Ethiopian army officer and politician. He was Foreign Minister during the People's Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (1986–1989). Prior to that, he was chairman of the Derg's committee for legal affairs. Beyeh was a refugee resident of the Italian Embassy from May 1991 until December 2020, when he left the Embassy. Biography Berhanu was born in Gojjam and was of Amhara descent. In 1959 he entered Harar Military Academy as a cadet, and upon graduation was posted to the airborne division in Nazret. Two years later he attended Haile Selassie University, where he studied law. In 1967 he became a lecturer at Harar Military Academy. He joined the Armed Forces Coordination Committee in 1974. Berhanu Girma Degefa (born 22 November 1986) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in road running events for Canada. His personal best for the marathon is 2:06:09 hours and he was the 2012 winner of Grandma's Marathon. Berhanu made his debut over the marathon distance in 2009, competing at the Casablanca Marathon and finishing fifth with a time of 2:15:57 hours. His next outing at the 2010 Valencia Marathon saw a three-minute improvement to 2:12:51 hours. He was also fifth at the Košice Peace Marathon that year. Berhanu Zerihun (1933/4 – 1987) was a prolific Ethiopian writer in Amharic and journalist, noted for his clear and crisp writing style, which contrasted against the more complex writing style popular in his time. Early life Born in Gondar the son of an Orthodox Christian Priest, Zerihun Mersa, as a child Berhanu was not interested in sacred texts and devoted much of his spare time to reading new Ethiopian “secular” books. His first poem about a corrupt judge was published in the newspaper Yezareitu Ityopya (Today's Ethiopia). Dejene Berhanu (December 12, 1980 – August 29, 2010) was a male Ethiopian runner, who specialized in the 5000 metres. Berhanu finished 11th in the short race at the 2004 World Cross Country Championships and fifth in the 5000 at the Athens Olympics. He followed that up with a pair of strong finishes at the World Cross Country Championships the next year. Berhanu was seventh in the short race and sixth in the long race. He ran in the 5000 again at the World Championships at Helsinki, finishing eighth. In 2006, Berhanu turned to focus on the marathon. He eschewed cross country for the Rotterdam Marathon, where he finished fourth in a time of 2:08:46. He ran the Chicago Marathon in the fall as a last-minute replacement for favourite Felix Limo.
