Birgir Örn Birgisson
Birgir Örn Birgisson (born 6 October 1969) is an Icelanders, Icelandic basketball coach and a former professional player who played 26 games for the Iceland men's national basketball team, Icelandic national basketball team. He won two Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), national championships with Keflavík men's basketball, Keflavík in 1996–97 Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), 1997 and 1998–99 Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), 1999. Before turning to basketball, Birgir had a successful career in Swimming (sport), swimming and was a member of the Icelandic Swimming Association, Icelandic national swimming team. Ísafjörður
Ísafjörður (pronounced , meaning ''ice fjord'', literally ''fjord of ices'') is a town in the northwest of Iceland. The oldest part of Ísafjörður with the town centre is located on a spit of sand, or ''eyri'', in Skutulsfjörður, a fjord which meets the waters of the larger fjord Ísafjarðardjúp. Iceland Men's National Basketball Team
The Iceland men's national basketball team ( is, Íslenska karlalandsliðið í körfubolta) represents Iceland in international basketball tournaments. The team is controlled by the Icelandic Basketball Association. Iceland has qualified for the EuroBasket twice, with the national team making their first ever appearance in 2015. They also participate at smaller European tournaments, such as the Games of the Small States of Europe. Although Iceland has yet to make their debut entrance on to the global stage at the FIBA World Cup. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Competitive swimming is one of the most popular Olympic sports, with varied distance events in butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and individual medley. In addition to these individual events, four swimmers can take part in either a freestyle or medley relay. A medley relay consists of four swimmers who will each swim a different stroke, ordered as backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle. Swimming each stroke requires a set of specific techniques; in competition, there are distinct regulations concerning the acceptable form for each individual stroke. There are also regulations on what types of swimsuits, caps, jewelry and injury tape that are allowed at competitions.
