Michael Birck
Michael J. Birck (January 25, 1938 – July 6, 2015) was a co-founder and chairman of Tellabs Inc. He began his career at Bell Telephone Laboratories, and helped found Tellabs in 1975. He served as the CEO of the company from 2002 to 2004. He was a philanthropist and a member of the Alumni Association at Purdue University. Biography Birck was born January 25, 1938, in Missoula, Montana, and grew up in Clinton, Indiana. He received a BSEE degree at Purdue University in 1960 and an MSEE degree from New York University in 1962. Birck began his career on the technical staff at AT&T’s Bell Telephone Laboratories. He went on to manage the Transmission System Design Department at Continental Telephone Laboratories. He was director of engineering at Wescom Inc. from 1968 to 1975. Birck and five other electrical engineers and salesmen came up with the idea for Tellabs in 1975. He was Chief Executive Officer of Tellabs from 2002 to 2004. Wenzel Raimund Birck
Wenzel Raimund Johann Birck (also spelled "Pirck", "Birk", "Birckh", "Pirckh", "Pürk", and "Pürck") (1718–1763) was one of the early proponents of Symphonic music in Vienna, along with Georg Christoph Wagenseil and Georg Matthias Monn, and an early tutor for Mozart. Birck also, along with Georg Christoph Wagenseil tutored a young Joseph Haydn. He was the court organist for Maria Theresia and the music teacher for emperor Joseph II. Sixt Birck
Sixt (or Sixtus) Birck, as Xystus Betuleius (February 24, 1501 – June 19, 1554) was a German humanist of Augsburg, "a notable German scholar of the New Learning". At the end of his schooling in Augsburg the Protestant Reformation began. He continued his theological studies at Erfurt, Tübingen and Basel before returning to Augsburg as director (''Magister'') of the ''Gymnasium''. Works His theatrical output is in both German and Latin: in Basel he produced a wide variety of German theater pieces with a Reformation subtext; in Augsburg he wrote a notable series of pedological school dramas in Latin, designed for student presentation and intended to improve morality and Latin alike. Birck Elgaaen (2 August 1917 – 7 January 2013) was a Norwegian equestrian who competed in the individual show jumping event at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. Berck (), sometimes referred to as Berck-sur-Mer (, literally ''Berck on Sea''), is a commune in the northern French department of Pas-de-Calais. It lies within the Marquenterre regional park, an ornithological nature reserve.
