Biraj Maharjan
Biraj Maharjan ( ne, बिराज महर्जन; born 18 September 1990) is a professional footballer from Nepal. He made his first appearance for the Nepal national football team in 2008. Career Biraj Maharjan is a Nepalese defender who, after graduating from ANFA Academy joined the Three Star Club in 2007. Despite being a defender he can shoot with both feet and has scored 11 domestic goals. International career Maharjan made his national team debut on 25 March 2008 in a friendly that Nepal won 1–0 against Pakistan at Pokhara, Kaski. On 31 August 2015, he won 50 Cap for Nepal national football team in a friendly match against India. He is the most capped player for Nepal national football team. He made his last appearance in Nepal jersey on 29 March 2021 at Dasharath Rangasala, Kathmandu in which Nepal beat Bangladesh by 2 goal in finals of Three Nations Cup. The Bangabandhu Cup, also known as the Bangabandhu Gold Cup, is an international football tournament organised by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) as a tribute to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who is the founding father of Bangladesh. It has been played sporadically since 1996, and was resurrected in 2015. Up to the 2016 edition, most of the participating countries in the tournament sent their youth national teams, their second teams or club sides. In the 2018 edition, all participating nations sent their first team except the Philippines. Martyr's Memorial A-Division League ( Nepali: शहीद स्मारक ए- डिभिजन लिग; formerly known as the Kathmandu League Championship) is the top divisions of football in Nepal. Contested by 12 to 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the Martyr's Memorial B-Division League. The season usually runs from November to March with every team playing each other once and the top six teams reach the Super Six round, where the teams again play each other once. It is officially known as the Qatar Airways Martyr's Memorial A-Division League.
