Bira Circuit
Bira Circuit is a motor racing track in Thailand, located in 111 Moo 5 Banglamung, Chonburi, northeast of Pattaya. The circuit is located on State Highway 36 which is from Bangkok and from the CBD of Pattaya. The venue is named after first Thai Formula 1 racing driver, Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh. The circuit has been operated by Bira Circuit One Company, Limited. The track, initially opened in 1986, covers an area of . It is a permanent motor and motorbike racing circuit with an offroad track, a rally stage and a go-kart facility. The circuit is twisty and bumpy and consists of elevation and two chicanes, a fast downhill double apex corner. There are 30 pits for racecars, plus a control tower, medical center and meeting room. The grandstand and spectator area can accommodate up to 100,000 people. It is also the first circuit in Thailand that meets the standard of Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (F.I.A.). The Asian Touring Car Series (ATCS) is a touring car racing series that takes place each year across several Asian nations. It includes events at circuits in Malaysia, China and Indonesia. It ran as the Asian Touring Car Championship (ATCC) between 2000-2001, and 2005-2006. The championship consists of three classes. Division 1 uses cars built to Super 2000 or BTC Touring regulations. Super 2000 is an FIA powertrain specification used in the World Rally Championship, the British Touring Car Championship, the World Touring Car Championship, and other touring car championships. The engines were originally 2 L naturally aspirated, and later being also allowed 1.6 L turbocharged units producing approximately 280 bhp. The goal of the Super 2000 classification is to allow more manufacturers and privateers to race by reducing the cost of a competitive car. In order to cut costs and shorten development time, the Super 2000 rally cars originally used a common control gearbox and drivetrain made by a French company, Sadev. Jack Lemvard (born 14 September 1984) is a Thai racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series and TCR Thailand Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the Thailand Super Series, Asian Touring Car Series and Formula BMW Asia amongst others. Racing career Lemvard began his career in 1998 in Karting, he raced there until 2006, winning two titles in 1998 and 2006. He switched to the Thai Toyota Vios Cup in 2006 and won the title that year. TCR Touring Car
A TCR Touring Car is a touring car specification, first introduced in 2014 and is now employed by a multitude of series worldwide. All TCR Touring Cars are front-wheel drive cars based on 4 or 5 door production vehicles, and are powered by 1.75 to 2.0 litre turbocharged engines.
