Bintaro Jaya
Bintaro Jaya is a planned township located in Greater Jakarta, Indonesia. It is developed by PT Jaya Real Property Tbk (formerly PT Bintaro Jaya). The development of the township began within South Jakarta in 1979 and is expanded further to South Tangerang in Banten province. The township is built as a satellite city for Jakarta, with a total land area of about 1000 hectares. The name Bintaro is derived from the Bintaro Village, which also takes the name of Bintaro plant ('' Cerbera manghas''), whereas Jaya came from the name of the developer. Pondok Indah Mall (Indonesian: Mal Pondok Indah) or PIM is a large shopping complex located in the Pondok Indah suburb of South Jakarta, Indonesia. The Pondok Indah Mall complex (referred to by Jakartans as "PIM") comprises three large buildings, the older 3-storey PIM1 and the 5-storey PIM2, and the newest building PIM3. PIM 1 and PIM2 are interconnected via two elevated multi-storey pedestrian walkways (Skywalk North and Skywalk South), which also tenanted by specialty shops. TransJakarta (stylised as transjakarta, often erroneously called Busway) is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Jakarta, Indonesia. The first BRT system in Southeast Asia, it commenced operations on 15 January 2004 to provide a fast public transport system to help reduce rush hour traffic. The Jakarta–Serpong Toll Road, also known as Ulujami–Serpong Toll Road, is a toll road connecting South Jakarta and South Tangerang (mainly BSD City and Bintaro Jaya) in the province of Banten, Indonesia. Operated by Jasa Marga and Nusantara Infrastructure, this toll road is connected to the Jakarta Outer Ring Road in Ulujami and Petukangan areas. 2022 Flood The toll road was flooded due to heavy rain over South Tangerang on 4 October 2022, leading to this toll road inaccessible for traffic. It is argued that the flood happened due to lack of water storage and the narrowing of Cibenda River.
