Jimmy Binks
James Graham Binks (born 5 October 1935) is a former English cricketer who played as a wicket-keeper for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Yorkshire. Although he was regarded by many as the best wicket-keeper of his generation, his limited batting ability restricted him to just two Test cricket, Test match appearances for English cricket team, England, both on the 1963-64 tour to India. Ironically, because of injuries to other players, he Batting order (cricket), opened the batting in three of his four Test innings. Life and career Binks' County Championship career is unique. Coming into the Yorkshire team in June 1955, he then played in every single Championship game played by Yorkshire until he retired at the end of the 1969 season. Kenneth Binks
Kenneth C. Binks, (19 May 1925 – 14 September 2018) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, he was a lawyer by career. He represented the Ontario riding of Ottawa West during the short-lived 31st Canadian Parliament after winning the seat in the 1979 federal election. He lost the 1980 election to Cyril Lloyd Francis of the Liberal party. Binks made two unsuccessful attempts to enter Canadian Parliament in 1965 federal election at the Russell riding and in 1968 at Ottawa—Carleton riding. His family has lived in the Ottawa area for 126 years and were members of the business and professional community for 4 generations. He was educated in the Public and High Schools of Ottawa. James Leslie Binks (born in Portadown, Northern Ireland), is a Northern Irish heavy metal drummer. He was the drummer for Judas Priest from 1977 to 1979. History Previously working for Eric Burdon, Binks was a drummer on Roger Glover's album ''The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper's Feast'' (1974). The album project began as a soundtrack for an animated film based on a well-known English children's book, but a promo for the film never gained any interest, so the project was scrapped. Glover went on to release the soundtrack as a "Roger Glover and Friends" title. One of the featured vocalists, Eddie Hardin, later released his own albums, the first of which was ''Eddie Hardin's Wizard's Convention'' (1976), which again included Binks on drums. Simon John Binks (born 27 November 1956,) is an Australian rock musician who was a guitarist and singer-songwriter for Australian Crawl from founding in 1978 to disbanding in 1986. Biography Early career Binks was raised in the Mornington Peninsula suburb of Mount Eliza on the outskirts of Melbourne and educated at The Peninsula School. Spiff Rouch was a band formed in 1976, it included Binks and fellow locals James Reyne, Bill McDonough, Guy McDonough, Paul Williams, and Robert Walker. By early 1978, Spiff Rouch had separated and Australian Crawl was formed with Binks (lead guitar), Reyne (lead vocals, piano, harmonica), and Williams (bass guitar), they were joined by James Reyne's younger brother David Reyne (drums) and schoolmate Brad Robinson (rhythm guitar, backing vocals).
