Binibining Pilipinas 2006 was the 43rd edition of Binibining Pilipinas. It took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines on March 4, 2006. At the end of the night, Gionna Cabrera crowned Lia Andrea Ramos as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2006, Carlene Aguilar crowned Anna Maris Igpit as Binibining Pilipinas-World 2006 and Precious Lara Quigaman crowned Denille Lou Valmonte as Binibining Pilipinas International 2006. Rosalyn Santiago was named First Runner-Up and Jeanne Bernadette Bello was named 2nd Runner-Up. The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Nicknamed as "the Big Dome", it is one of the largest indoor arenas in Asia, and it is also one of the largest clear span domes in the world. Miss World 2006, the 56th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 September 2006 at the Sala Kongresowa, the main 2,897-seat auditorium of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw, Poland. It was the first time ever that the pageant was held in the Continental Europe and a European city other than London, United Kingdom, having previously been held there in 2002 after the Nigeria Controversy. Miss Universe 2006 was the 55th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States on July 23, 2006. At the end of the event, Natalie Glebova of Canada crowned Zuleyka Rivera of Puerto Rico as Miss Universe 2006. It is Puerto Rico's fifth victory in the pageant's history. Precious Lara San Agustin Quigaman-Alcaraz (; born 3 January 1983) is a Filipino actress, multi-product endorser and beauty queen who won the Miss International 2005 beauty pageant held in Tokyo, Japan.
