Binghamton Bearcats Wrestling
The Binghamton Bearcats wrestling team represents Binghamton University of Vestal, New York. The Bearcats compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) and are coached by Kyle Borshoff. History Binghamton has fielded a college wrestling team since 1969. The team competed on the NCAA Division III level until 1998. The Bearcats moved to Division II in 1999 and Division I in 2002. The wrestling team joined the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association in July 2013. Previously, it had been an associate member of the Colonial Athletic Association, but conference realignment led the CAA to drop the sport. The rest of Binghamton's intercollegiate teams, except golf, are members of the America East Conference. The Bearcats have had four All-American wrestlers (Josh Patterson 7th, Justin Lister 4th, Nick Gwiazdowski 8th, Donald Vinson 3rd) since joining Division I and had 25 All-Americans in Divisions II and III. The Binghamton Bearcats are the NCAA Division I athletics teams at Binghamton University located in Binghamton, New York. United States. They are one of four Division I programs in the SUNY system. A member of the America East Conference, Binghamton University, SUNY sponsors teams in eleven men's and ten women's NCAA sanctioned sports, men's golf is an affiliate member of the Big Sky Conference, men's tennis is an affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference, and the wrestling team is a member of the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Clarion Golden Eagles Wrestling
The Clarion Golden Eagles wrestling team represents PennWest Clarion in Clarion, Pennsylvania in wrestling. The squad is coached by Keith Feraro who replaced Troy Letters. Letter's replaced Matt Derlan, who is now the coach of the Binghamton Bearcats. Derlan replaced Teague Moore who left the Clarion collegiate wrestling program to become the head coach at American University. The Golden Eagles wrestle in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and as of the 2018-2019 season participated in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as well. The Eagles were members of the Eastern Wrestling League until the end of the 2018–19 season when all members of the EWL accepted affiliate membership in the MAC for wrestling starting in the 2019–20 season. North Carolina State University (NC State) is a public land-grant research university in Raleigh, North Carolina. Oklahoma State Cowboys Wrestling
The Oklahoma State Cowboys wrestling team is the most successful NCAA Division I program of all time in any sport. As of 2021-2022, Oklahoma State wrestling has won 34 team national championships, 143 individual NCAA championships, and 483 All-American honors. History Cowboy wrestling extends back to 1914–15 when A.M. Colville led the first team at what was then Oklahoma A&M. That team lost the school's first dual meet to Texas. The next season, athletic director Edward C. Gallagher would take over the team. He coached the first national championship team in 1928. Nick Gwiazdowski
Nickolos Edward Gwiazdowski (born December 30, 1992) is an American freestyle wrestler and graduated folkstyle wrestler. A two-time NCAA Division I National Champion for the North Carolina State Wolfpack, Gwiazdowski has won two bronze medals at the World Championships and has captured a Pan American Games title and two Pan American Championships for Team USA. High school career He was a 2 time NYSPHSAA (New York) Division II state champion for Duanesburg High School, where he went 50-0 as a senior, and managed to not have a single opponent go the entire match with him. He received the Dave Schultz and Wade Schalles Awards at the end of the season. College career Nick earned All-American honors as a true freshman at Binghamton University in 2012 (8th at 285). The All-America designation is an annual honor bestowed upon an amateur sports person from the United States who is considered to be one of the best amateurs in their sport. Individuals receiving this distinction are typically added to an All-America team for their sport. Some sports will have multiple All-America teams and will list the honorees as members of a first team, second team, or third team. As such, All-America teams are composed of outstanding US amateur players. Individuals falling short of qualifying for the honor may receive All-America honorable mention. The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States. The conference has nine core members including eight public research universities, three of which, the University of Maine, the University of New Hampshire, and the University of Vermont, are the flagship universities of their states.
