Haakon Bingen
Haakon Bingen (22 September 1918 – 16 March 2002) was a Norwegian economist and civil servant. History He was born in Trøgstad, and studied economy at the University of Oslo. When the university was closed during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he found work in Statistics Norway. After the war he returned to his studies, graduated with the cand.oecon. degree in 1946, studied briefly at Harvard University before being hired in the International Monetary Fund. Bingen is the father of political scientist Jon Bingen. He died in March 2002 following a short-term illness. Career Bingen was a member of the Norwegian Labour Party in 1948. He was also a chairman of ''Sosialistisk Forum'' and ''Sosialistiske økonomers forening'', and was a central member of '' Folkebevegelsen mot EF'', which rejected Norwegian membership in the European Communities in 1972. Jacques Bingen
Jacques Bingen (16 March 1908 – 12 May 1944) was a high-ranking member of the French Resistance during World War II who, when captured by the Gestapo, chose to commit suicide rather than risk divulging what he knew under torture. Early life Bingen was born in Paris to a Jewish family with Italian roots. He was the brother-in-law of André Citroën. After graduating from the Lycée Janson de Sailly in 1924, he entered the École des mines de Paris in 1926 and studied to become an engineer. In 1930–1931, he served in the artillery branch of the French Army. From 1935, he was director of the French shipping company Société Anonyme de Gérance et d'Armement. World War II He was drafted in 1939 for World War II. During the Battle of France, he was wounded on 12 June 1940 at Saint-Valery-en-Caux. Kari Bingen
Kari Bingen is an American policy analyst and government official who served as Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, the second-highest ranking civilian intelligence job in The Pentagon. She was confirmed unanimously by the U.S. Senate on May 25, 2017 and sworn in on June 5, 2017. According to a Pentagon spokesman, Bingen resigned on December 5, 2019 and will leave the Pentagon on January 10, 2020. The spokesman added that this is a normal rotation. Bingen is a former staff member of the United States House Committee on Armed Services (HASC), where she served on the strategic forces subcommittee and as the HASC's policy director.
