Billy Thompson (gunman)
Billy Thompson, sometimes known as Texas Billy Thompson (1845 – September 6, 1897) was an Old West gunman and gambler, and the younger brother of the famous gunman and lawman Ben Thompson. The younger Thompson brother never achieved the fame that his brother achieved, and in his own lifetime was mainly referred to as the unpredictable and troubled younger brother of Ben Thompson. Factually, however, while a dangerous man, he also was a formidable opponent in a gunfight. Mountain City, Texas
Mountain City is a city in Hays County, Texas, United States. The population was 648 at the 2010 census. From the early 1850s until the 1880s, Mountain City was a sprawling community on the old Stagecoach Road that served as an important hub in the ranching and farming industries of the newly formed Hays County. The original Mountain City was centered near the modern community of the same name, but stretched from the Blanco River around present-day Kyle all the way to Manchaca Springs northeast of present-day Buda. The first settlers, such as Chattanooga native Phillip Allen and his family, landed in Mountain City around the time of the Texas Revolution in 1835 and 1836. Aransas County ( ) is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. It is in South Texas and its county seat is Rockport. As of the 2020 census, the population was 23,830. Aransas County is part of the Corpus Christi Metropolitan Statistical Area. John Morco, usually known as "Happy Jack" Morco (1848? – October 16, 1873), was an alleged gunfighter, gunman by his own accounts as well as a Political corruption, corrupt police officer, lawman of the Old West, most notably during the wildest days of the cattletown Ellsworth, Kansas. Early life Morco is believed to have been born in the east, possibly in New York City, venturing west some time around 1866.
