Billy Satellite
Billy Satellite was an American rock band based in Oakland, California. They are perhaps best known for composing and performing "I Wanna Go Back," which would later become a hit for Eddie Money. It was also covered by Gregg Rolie on his 1985 self-titled release. History Formed in Alameda, California as a three-person band in the early 1980s, Billy Satellite originally consisted of Monty Byrom (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Ira Walker (bass), and Tom "Fee" Falletti (drums). After playing in clubs in the Bay Area for several months, Falletti invited his friend, Danny Chauncey (Mistress, All-Stars), to join the band on guitar and keyboards. Billy Satellite rose to the top of the Bay Area music scene. They recorded a studio demo with Phil Kaffel. In 1982 or 1983, they were signed to Capital Records by A&R man John S. Carter. ''Can't Hold Back'' is Eddie Money, Eddie Money's sixth album, released in 1986. It contains one of Money's biggest hits, "Take Me Home Tonight (song), Take Me Home Tonight" which helped bring both himself and Ronnie Spector back to the spotlight. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA in August 1987. "I Wanna Go Back" is a Billy Satellite cover and first appeared on the band's eponymous 1984 debut album. The song "Stranger in a Strange Land", written by Money with Henry Small (singer), Henry Small and Tom Whitlock, was covered by John Entwistle. In popular music, a cover version, cover song, remake, revival, or simply cover, is a new performance or recording by a musician other than the original performer or composer of the song. Originally, it referred to a version of a song released around the same time as the original in order to compete with it. Now, it refers to any subsequent version performed after the original.
