Billy O'Sullivan
Billy O'Sullivan (born 22 September 1968) is an Republic of Ireland, Irish sportsman. He played hurling with his local club Ballygunner GAA, Ballygunner and with the Waterford GAA, Waterford senior inter-county team. Early life Billy O'Sullivan was born in Ballygunner, County Waterford in 1968. He was educated locally and from an early age he showed a great interest in hurling. Billy won an U15 Munster Colleges with De La Salle College Waterford, De La Salle College, Waterford. He played for a combined Fitzgibbon Cup teams from 1987-1989. Playing career Club Billy plays his club hurling with his local Ballygunner GAA, Ballygunner team. Ballygunner GAA
Ballygunner GAA (nicknamed "The Gunners") is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club located in the parish of St Mary's Ballygunner in Waterford City, Ireland. The are the current All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship title holders. The club, which is exclusively concerned with hurling, is one of the most successful in Waterford. It has won 20 county titles and produced many great players for Waterford such as Paul Flynn, Fergal Hartley, Billy O'Sullivan and Pauric Mahony. Ballygunner has an intense rivalry with fellow city club Mount Sion and for many years in the 1990s and 2000s the two dominated the club scene. Since 1992, Ballygunner have won 17 county titles. Shane O'Sullivan (hurler)
Shane O'Sullivan (born 5 November 1985) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Waterford senior team. O'Sullivan joined the team during the 2004 National League and immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen. Since then he has won two Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. O'Sullivan has ended up as an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. AT club level O'Sullivan is a three-time county championship medalist with Ballygunner. Playing career Club O'Sullivan plays his club hurling with the Ballygunner club in Waterford and has enjoyed much success. Railway Cup
The GAA Interprovincial Championship ( ga, An Corn Idir-Chúigeach) or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling). National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire, London and Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. Waterford Senior Hurling Championship
The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland. The series of games are played during the spring, summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Walsh Park in October.
