''The Billy O'Connor Show'' was a Canadian variety television series which aired on CBC Television from 1954 to 1956. Premise Billy O'Connor, a jazz musician, hosted this series with a small house band - Vic Centro (accordion), Kenny Gill (guitar) and Jackie Richardson (bass). Jack Duffy and Bill Isbister also made frequent appearances on this series. O'Connor was promoted in CBC publicity as "a man you'd like to get to know". Juliette joined O'Connor on the series as a regular performer from 20 August 1955. However, their adversarial relationship led to the end of O'Connor's series in May 1956 and the debut of Juliette's own series in the same time slot that October. Jack Duffy
Jack Duffy (September 27, 1926 – May 19, 2008) was a Canadian singer, comedian and actor. Life and career Born in Montreal, Duffy grew up in Toronto, dropping out of Central Technical School to become a singer. At age 19, he was hired as a studio singer with CBC in Toronto and in 1948 he started a three-year affiliation with Tommy Dorsey, initially as a member of the vocal group Bob-O-Links. Duffy was performing as a member of the musical act the Town Criers in 1950 and would frequently appear on CBC-TV variety shows through the 1950s. In 1957, he was hired by Norman Jewison to appear as a comedian on the CBC series ''Showtime''. Duffy had his own CBC variety show called '' Here's Duffy'' that ran from June 1958 through October 1959. The press originally printed only examination books and the university calendar. Its first scholarly book was a work by a classics professor at University College, Toronto. Juliette Augustina Cavazzi, (née Sysak; 27 August 1926 – 26 October 2017), nicknamed "Our pet", was a Canadian singer and television host who was featured on CBC Television from the 1950s through the 1970s. Biography The daughter of Polish-Ukrainian immigrants, Juliette Augustina Sysak was born in St. Vital, Manitoba. She moved with her family to Vancouver in her youth, where she began her singing career in 1940. She was professionally known by simply her first name, Juliette, starting with her appearances with the Dal Richards band at the Hotel Vancouver at age 13. Juliette Cavazzi married her manager, singer Tony Ivo Cavazzi on 7 July 1948. They remained married for 40 years until his death in 1988. She retired and lived in Vancouver, although she made occasional special appearances, such as an event marking the 85th birthday of bandleader Dal Richards in 2004. Premise Juliette Cavazzi made early Canadian radio and television appearances on series such as ''Holiday Ranch''. She was a regular on ''The Billy O'Connor Show'' from 1955 and inherited that show's time slot in 1956 following a dispute with O'Connor.
