Billy Nasty (real name William Nastri) is a British techno and electro DJ and artist. He is a Guinness World Record holder for the first commercially released DJ mix. Billy Nasty was originally a House music DJ. His first residency was at the Brain club in London in 1990. He went on to play at clubs such as The End and the Twilo club, and at events such as Tribal Gathering Tribal Gathering is the original British electronic dance music festival that between 1993 and 2004 catered for different types of dance music cultures such as techno, house and drum & bass. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The Brain was a house and techno music venue in Soho, London. It was located on the former premises of the Apollo Club on 11 Wardour Street. The Brain was founded in 1989 by Sean McLusky and Mark 'Wigan' Williams. Several now famous DJs and producers played at the club, including Norman Cook, Orbital, Leftfield, Billy Nasty, Goldie, Moby, Graeme Park, The Shamen, Mixmaster Morris, Ariel, Andrew Weatherall, and A Guy Called Gerald. The End was a nightclub in the West End of London, England. Started in December 1995 by DJs Layo Paskin and Mr C, it was also responsible for the label End Recordings. Musical genres played there included techno and house on Saturday nights, drum and bass and breakbeat on Friday night, and indie on Monday with a club called Trash. The End also hosted other nights throughout the week and weekend, including a dubstep night on Wednesdays. Twilo
Twilo was an American nightclub in operation from 1995 to 2001 in New York City and from 2006 to 2007 in Miami. The New York location at 530 West 27th Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan regularly attracted a crowd of thousands to its warehouse-like dance floor. Playing host to dozens of DJs from around the world, the club was important in popularizing international styles of house and trance music within the United States.
