Billy Ions
William Greenwell Ions (born 11 March 1994) is an English former professional footballer. Ions was born in Ashington, Northumberland and played youth football with CD Tenerife, Newcastle United, and Leeds United. After being released by Leeds United, Ions joined the Nike Academy. He started his professional career with PS Kemi. Early life Ions, born in Ashington, Northumberland, moved to the Canary Islands in Spain with his family at a young age. While in Spain, he idolised England national team star Wayne Rooney and Spanish forward Fernando Torres to whom he compared himself to. Club career Early career Ions first started playing football in the youth team of the local village of Valle de San Lorenzo in Tenerife, named "Constanza". Ashington
Ashington is a town and civil parish in Northumberland, England, with a population of 27,864 at the 2011 Census. It was once a centre of the coal mining industry. The town is north of Newcastle upon Tyne, west of the A189 and bordered to the south by the River Wansbeck. The North Sea coast at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is away. Many inhabitants have a distinctive accent and dialect known as Pitmatic. This varies from the regional dialect known as Geordie. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''Mestaruussarja'' (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league. Between 1908 and 1930 the championship was decided as a knock-out cup competition. ''Ykkönen'' (Finnish for 'Number One'; sv, Ettan) is the second highest level of the Finnish football league system (after the Veikkausliiga), although it is the highest league managed by the Football Association of Finland. The teams also play a pre-season league cup, the Ykköscup. History The first league format competition in the second level of Finnish football was called , which was founded in 1936. The 2015 Ykkönen began on 2 May 2015 and ended on 17 October 2015. The winning team qualified directly for promotion to the 2016 Veikkausliiga 2016, while the second-placed team had to play a play-off against the eleventh-placed team from Veikkausliiga to decide who would play in that division. The bottom two teams were relegated to Kakkonen. The 2014 Kakkonen season started on 18 April and ended on 4 October 2014. Teams A total of 40 teams contested the league divided into four groups, Eteläinen (Southern), Pohjoinen (Northern), Läntinen (Western) and Itäinen (Eastern). 29 returning from the 2013 season, two relegated from Ykkönen and nine promoted from Kolmonen. The champion of each group qualified to promotion matches to decide which two teams get promoted to the Ykkönen. The bottom two teams in each group and the worst eight-placed qualified directly for relegation to Kolmonen. Each team played a total of 27 matches, three times against each team of its group. Kakkonen
Kakkonen or II divisioona is the third level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen (Finnish for 'Number Two'; sv, Tvåan). Sakari Tukiainen finished the season 2014 as the top goal scorer and setting a new league record with 40 goals for the Kakkonen. Petter Meyer finished the 2015 as the top goal scorer for GrIFK with 23 goals. Tommy Taylor (footballer, Born 1951)
Thomas Frederick Taylor (born 26 September 1951) is an English football manager and former footballer. As a footballer, he played as a defender. He is currently the head coach of Europa Point. Playing career Taylor played for Orient, helping them to promotion to Division Two, and captained the England youth team. He won 13 caps for the England Under-23 team, but never made a senior appearance. Taylor joined West Ham United in October 1970 and was a member of the team that won the FA Cup in 1975. In 1977, he played for Team Hawaii of North American Soccer League from May to August of this year on loan from West Ham. He returned to Orient in 1979 after losing his place in the Hammers side to Alvin Martin. He played a total of 396 games and scored eight goals for the Hammers.
