Willie Farrell
William P. Farrell (28 May 1928 – 8 April 2010) was a Fianna Fáil politician from Grange, County Sligo in Ireland. He was a senator from 1982 to 1983, and from 1987 to 2002. An auctioneer, he was first elected to Sligo County Council in 1967, and remained a member until resigning his seat in 1997. He was elected in 1982 to the 16th Seanad, on the Industrial and Commercial Panel. He lost his seat at the 1983 Seanad election, but was re-elected in 1987 to the 18th Seanad and held the seat until he retired at the 2002 Seanad election. Farrell was criticised in the Seanad and beyond in May 1990. The house was debating the Larceny Bill 1989, and an amendment by Joe Costello proposed to remove the clause in existing legislation which made "the abominable crime of buggery" a criminal offence. William Angelo Fiorelli (March 30, 1926 – June 30, 2007), better known as Bill Farrell, was a Cleveland-born recording artist in the 1950s on the MGM, Mercury Records and TEL record labels. In 1947, Bob Hope was in a night club in Buffalo, New York and saw Farrell perform. Hope was impressed with Farrell's powerful baritone voice and smooth delivery and he invited Farrell to Hollywood. Hope featured him on his weekly radio show with Doris Day, and Les Brown and his Orchestra. MGM released "Shrimp Boats" b/w "Cry" in October 1951 on the 45- rpm disc K11113. This particular 45 rpm print was issued shortly after the decision was made to make available to the general public 45 rpm records, and discontinuing the 78 rpm records in favor of the size, weight and packaging. TEL released "If" b/w "You Were Only Fooling" in late 1951 on the 45 rpm disc C1000. This is (reportedly) the first 45 rpm print released by a division of United Telefilm Records, Inc. Billy Farrell (footballer)
Billy "Juicy" Farrell was an Irish association footballer who played for Shamrock Rovers and the League of Ireland XI during the 1920s. Farrell was a prominent member of the Rovers team that won the treble in 1924–25 and was top goalscorer in the League of Ireland on two successive seasons. He remains one of Rovers all-time leading goalscorers. Farrell was a highly regarded player, keeping a young Jimmy Dunne out of the Rovers first team. During the summer of 1926 Farrell suffered a broken thigh following a motor cycle accident and this subsequently ended his career. Playing career Shamrock Rovers Together with Bob Fullam, John Fagan and John Joe Flood, Farrell was part of a legendary Shamrock Rovers forward-line known as the "Four F's". Farrell and Fullam formed a particularly strong partnership. In the 1924–25 League of Ireland season they scored 25 and 20 goals respectively.
