Billy Burns (rugby League)
William Burns (born 20 November 1998) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who last played as a forward for the St. George Illawarra Dragons in the National Rugby League (NRL). He previously played for the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Background Burns was born in Parkes, New South Wales, Australia. He played his junior rugby league for Parkes Spacemen. Burns was educated at Red Bend Catholic College, Forbes and at McCarthy Catholic College, Emu Plains and represented the Australian Schoolboys rugby league team, 2016 Australian Schoolboys. He then signed with Penrith Panthers. Playing career Burns made his NRL debut for Penrith Panthers, Penrith against the Sydney Roosters in round 24 of the 2019 NRL season at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Parkes, New South Wales
Parkes is a town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the main settlement in the local government area of Parkes Shire. Eddie Blacker (born 15 December 1999) is a professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Norths Devils in the Queensland Cup. Blacker previously played for the St George Illawarra Dragons and the Penrith Panthers in the NRL. Career Early career Blacker played his junior rugby league at the Pine Rivers Bears in Brisbane Rugby League. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10.
