Billy Bryan (baseball)
William Ronald Bryan (born December 4, 1938) is an American former Major League Baseball catcher who appeared in 374 games over all or portions of eight seasons for the Kansas City Athletics (–), New York Yankees (1966–) and Washington Senators (1961–71), Washington Senators (). Born in Morgan, Georgia, Bryan stood tall, weighed , batted left-handed and threw right-handed. He was signed by the Athletics in 1960 and enjoyed early success at the minor league baseball, minor-league level, making the All-Star team in the 1961 Class B Northwest League and hitting 25 home runs, runs batted in, knocking in 85 run (baseball), runs, and batting average (baseball), batting .295 in the Double-A Texas League in 1962. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. In baseball statistics, a hit (denoted by H), also called a base hit, is credited to a batter when the batter safely reaches or passes first base after hitting the ball into fair territory with neither the benefit of an error nor a fielder's choice.
